Have you always dreamed of being a Mainer lumberjack; waking up to the rooster’s crow, filling your belly with a hearty breakfast and swinging your ax all day? Well this place can’t make you Paul Bunyan, but it sure can make you feel like him. Grow a beard and head down to the Kingsfield Woodsman! Counter service breakfast with big fat pancakes, biscuits and gravy, friendly folks, etc. You can’t go wrong. We will be back, hell I may move in. I Heart You!!

The Woodsman Restaurant has a lot to offer a small community! The self-service style allows patrons to quickly order and receive food. The full coffee bar was a welcome sight for weary travelers looking for a caffeine fix. The food was cooked quickly and was easily customizable. The interior sports raw wood tables and loads of logging ephemera which are fun to check out while you wait for your food.

Awesome breakfast food at great prices given the quantity and quality. Very friendly staff. I got two delicious stick to your ribs pancakes. They are plate size so two was one too many. My friends got various omelettes. Their toast came with homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. We stop once a year on our way back from Sugarloaf.

Miss the previous owner and staff. The food is not what it use to be. Definitely slower on the grill. It is a shame to not have homemade jam, something Betsy did very well. The atmosphere is not the same. It is sad when change is not good change. Update: my sausage and potatoes were both burnt. The cook flipped my sausage over so it wasn't apparent that it was burnt. Cutting the potatoes into smaller pieces is such as shame. The prices have gone up, some things by a lot. It is such a shame. We've been here 3x times since the change of owners, hoping for a different outcome, and it is just is not great. It is sad because this was a great establishment before. Update to the response from the business: I can assure you my food was burnt. I gain nothing by leaving feedback good or bad. Change can be good which is why we came back giving it several tries. We were just not satisfied. No hard feelings. We are only 3 customers, plenty of others out there. Some will enjoy it and some will not and...

I have gone to this restaurant since I was 5 years old use to go everyday with my kids. The new ownership has changed everything. I have eaten there three times since the food is not as good the prices are out of control and they turned another great restaurant into another hipster tourist trap. I really had hope for the new owners and their ideas. I hope the new owners and the woodsmen the best and that they find the root which grew this place into the icon...
