It is always great to have new restaurants in Kingman especially when it is something we do not have. So to have a restaurant that serves Greek food is great and exciting.
The atmosphere is nice. The servers are kind and attentive.
The food is...okay. Unfortunately I have worked at a couple of Greek restaurants in the past and also cook Greek myself. The fact that the restaurant includes "diner" in the name tells you something. It is basically diner quality food.
The first time I ate here I had the prime rib sandwich. It was okay. It was cooked the way I asked, but overall, it lacked flavor. I am pretty sure, I could be wrong, that the prime rib was frozen.
The next time I ate here I had a traditional Greek meal of mousakka, avegolemono, Greek salad and baklava for dessert. First, the avegolemono (lemon egg soup) was okay. Some of the rice was not completely cooked through and the soup was also very thick (that is probably just a personal preference though). The Greek sald was good with lettuce, tomatoe, cucumber, red onion, feta and a dolmade (stuffed grape leaf). I used the tzatziki (cucumber sauce used as a dip and put on gyros) as a dressing. The mousakka (Greek eggplant "lasagna") was okay. It was not as flavorful as I have had it or have made it. It could have used more eggplant (and potato). The baklava was not very sweet (which again is a personal preference which I do happen to like) and easily fell apart. Overall, the meal was Greek and it was something I have not had for a long time, but the food was "okay."
I will say the portion sizes are good for the price.
Overall I gave it a four star for atmosphere, service and price, but I would give it a three star for food.
I am glad they are here, and I hope the food gets better. They have only been open for a few weeks, and I know it can be hard to get people trained to where you would like them to be. I am looking forward to trying it again...
Read moreI usually go to Greek on in Prescott valley if I'm out tht way. I spend about $60 on average. A co-worker just told me we have a Greek spot in Kingman so I decided to check them out. Initially, I was hoping to make this my new spot. My husband and I walked in and walked up to the counter where the menus were and grabbed a menu. A waitress came out of the Kitchen. She had to walk by us to get out of the Kitchen. She didn't even acknowledge that we were in there. It's like we were invisible. She went right to the table behind us. I thought " maybe they had been there a while waiting to get their order taken" despite only 2 other people seated already. She proceeded to take their order. Once she was done, she walked bk into the kitchen and still didn't acknowledge us. A group of maybe 3-4 people walked in after us. She immediately ran out of the kitchen and walked right up to them and said " Hi welcome in" and proceeded to assist them. Without me even mentioning how I was feeling, My husband instantly said, "WOW, we've been standing here for a while and you didn't even acknowledge us let alone ask us if we'd like to be seated or anything". Her excuse was "I'm only 1 person and you were looking at the menu". My husband said but I wasn't and just like you greeted them, you could have easily did the same". Right then I knew I wouldn't ever be returning. If you're of color or any kind, I wouldn't recommended this restaurant!! ZERO STARS Owner, I appreciate your apology. For that reason, I will give it another try. I love gyros and was ecstatic to have it at home. Thank you for being a stand up person. I give honest review's and I have to say this was the very 1st time I had experienced that in Kingman. When I do return, Id like to shake your hand and tell you thank you in person for acknowledging this...
Read moreI took my mother there for her birthday we were so excited that Kingman had a great restaurant since we are greek. The people were friendly but they were out of a lot of stuff we wanted to order but they said they were out of. I have to say it was an hour before closing time. But with that said the food should have been at good quality and enough food to pay be good paying customers. The cheesecake baklava was awesome the vegetables were good from what we had to chose from. The spanakopita was horrible it was soggy and very greasy. I couldn't do it upon my first bite. It even made my sister sick after we were finished eating I told the waitress and she apologized but it was still an overall bad experience it was my mother's birthday and it was a let down the hours could be better is all I can say and please work on the spanakopita that is one of my favorites and we will become a regular customers if that changes. I was just so let down and so is my mother we swore we would never come back. But I believe in second chances and good Greek food so we will...
