This place is horrible, both service and food. First of all when my wife and I walked into the restaurant there was no one there to greet u and u could see a couple of employees in the back sitting and talking. So we stood up front for a couple minutes and they looked right at us and just kept talking. I wanted to leave right then and there but my wife was really hungry, and at this point we have been traveling for a few hours. So, I walked up to the people in the back and asked, if we seat ourselves, the waiter stood up and was upset or something like we bothered him and he said yeah. We sat and ordered an appetizer, some kind of special nachos. To my surprise they were pretty good. So I got a lil excited that food would make up for the bad service, WRONG!!! My wife had enchiladas and they were beyond horrible. The sauce tasted like a can of tomatoe soup that had spoiled. I ordered a burrito with rice, beans, chicken, cheese, with sour cream. Topped with green enchilada sauce on top. I explained to them that I wanted everything inside my burrito and then topped with the green enchilada sauce on top with cheese. They told me they understood me and no problem. Well thats not what I got, beans and rice on a plate of there own, and chicken was wrapped in the tortilla with the sauce in a bowl. So, at this point we were leaving, and I paid for everything we ordered. They are horrible and the service OMG!!! I WOULDNT LET MY DOG EAT THERE, and when we got home Itried giving the chicken from my burrito to my dog and she...
Read moreI really wanted to support this business because of the obvious impact the pandemic has had on it (very few clients during a peak time). Our party of two were welcomed and seated right away. We ordered a total of 9 tacos (we expected street tacos and instead got medium size tortilla) and two fountain drinks. We were surprised to get a bill of $55 for 9 tacos and two drinks. Almost $5.50 per taco which we thought was ridiculous. We did not complain about the bill to the waitress or owner and instead paid and left. On the quality of the food, I will only mention that the quality was not there (hard tortillas and some tacos had very little meat). We are clearly Mexican and expected the authentic quality that was claimed. We even conversed in Spanish with the waiter which made us feel at ease. Unfortunately, they felt the need to overcharge which resulted in the loss of a customer. There is no way in hell we will be going back but will continue to support smaller businesses who do not take advantage of people and...
Read moreWas better last year, and was my favorite. Went there a week ago, was seated and forgotten for around 20, 25 minutes, server took other orders of people seated after us. Ended up walking out disappointed and hungry.
Edit several years later... I'm back. I went into El Potrillo hoping for the best. I looked at the menu, looked at the prices, walked right on out. Cmon y'all. Americans love Mexican restaurants because it's usually alotta good food for not alotta price. Y'all have uno reversed it, not cool. Y'all aren't competing with other chains or home cooked at all anymore. I was a chef, once upon a time, before retirement. The statistics when I was in culinary school for a restaurants success was 1 in 6. I can't imagine what it is now, or how restaurants even manage to stay open with nothing really outstanding going on. Competition and inflation are too high to be caught slipping. It seems easier now to become one of those 5 than it did back in 2003, but idk. Good luck to y'all but I...
