The service is absolutely terrible. I was sitting down at the bar for over 15 minutes and I wasn't greeted nor given a menu. I can't speculate on the price of the food but I assure you that if the quality of service is any indication of the quality of the food and the prices then this place deserves the lowest rating possible. I would give negative stars to this place if I could. Horrible experience and I do not and would necer recommend this place to anyone

You better check your video again. Yes we sat ourselves because the girl at the cash register didnt say anything to us when we came in and instead of addressing us in any way she proceeded to help the guy who walked right in front of us while we were standing there. So we walked over to the bar and sat down and both waitresses who were behind the bar DID NOT say a single word to us. So I grabbed a menu myself because I was not given one. Then the same guy who walked in front of me when I was standing at the front walked over to where I was sitting and started talking to the waitress who was directly in front of us. Instead of taking our order or even telling us that she would be right with us like you stated she did (which you are ABSOLUTELY LYING about) she proceeded to talk with him about him moving to some house up the road. Please post the video right here or on your website. That way everyone can see that you are a LIAR and that you are running a second rate establishment with no professionalism and even less customer service. If you took reviews, customer service or even running a business seriously, then you would not be on here lying and blowing smoke on Google reviews trying to prove and convince others that I am in the wrong and that your business is professional and customer friendly. The fact of the matter is your establishment is none of those things. I don't need to convince anyone of anything. I stated what my experience was and I'm sorry that you don't like it. As a business owner myself, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that none of this should even be a thought. Let alone an actual occurrence. You do not have a sign or any indication if the customer is suppose to seat themselves or wait to be seated (if you do it's definitely not visible near the front door) I don't expect any of your employees to drop anything they are doing to come wait on me but even a look or smile or possibly a hand gesture that at least acknowledges my presence. Then being walked by multiple times by multiple employees not a single one greeted me or said anything about needing a minute or a that they would help me shortly. Then to have a waitress have a conversation with a patron who walked up after we sat down and stood literally 2 feet to the side of me. Regardless of it being 2 minutes or 2 hours. Your employees never said a word to me the entire time I was there. I get better customer-employee service/interaction at Waffle House, but then again, they are a professional business especially if you compare it to your establishment. Maybe you should check your management or how you are training your employees. Again if I am wrong about all this then I will erase my review and accept that I was in the wrong. You have yourself a good day and good luck with everything...

Talk about a DIAMOND in the rough!!! This place was AWESOME!

I happened to stumble upon this place with family after taking a ride on the Saint Mary's Railroad out of Kingsland on their Easter train ride with the kiddos. The thought of a diner after a train ride for lunch sounded great. We pulled up to the place and it looks very small from the outside but when you get inside, it's hard to wrap your mind around. How much is inside there when you look at it from the outside. We were quickly able to secure a big table for a party of 8. After briefly looking around and glancing at the menu. The interior of the place screams old school 70s diner. The food is true southern style grub. When you have to wait 20 minutes for them to fry chicken the right way you know you're at a good southern cooking establishment. I tried to order something off of the daily special menu the "Country PBT with eggs" however it was sold out by the time I showed up. So I opted for the fish and grits. The order came with a selection of cod, whitefish or catfish. I opted for the cod, blackened, and the fish when it arrived had so much flavor. I just put it on top of my grits and mixed it all in and it tasted heavenly. The food at this place, reminds me of another establishment that I went to up in Wrens, GA - called: Peggy's. (Check them out too.) Just like there, Steffens did not disappoint with the southern cooking. We didn't have time for ice cream maybe next time and we will definitely be back at this location again because we ride the Saint Mary's Railroad quite frequently. I can't remember our servers's name but she had to have been in her late 40's and to hear her say that. she's been working at the same restaurant since she was 14 years old is definitely something to be proud of.

**Overall, I highly recommend this place over all other chain local restaurants. You will not be disappointed. This is a true gem in south eastern Georgia not...

Atmosphere: Busy, Popular, and Enthusiastic environment. There are times I've experienced at Steffen's being told "Your Meal was paid for." Even happened one time when all I had was just enough to pay for my meal; empty gas tank because of unknown kindness I was able to get gas in Jesus name. But the most Atmospheric Occurrence is others at Steffen's experience this same (unknown kindness) blessings in Steffen's Atmosphere.

Service: "All hands on deck" phrase that comes to mind regarding overall service go Bree, go Brooke, go Cheyenne, go Mrs Cindy, go Nikki, and go Mrs Debbie.

In my Observations: Employee of the Month: Just natural hardworking with a down home hospitable energy that effectively delivers exceptional service. ---Kelsey---- Employee of the Year: Heartwarming workmanship has a drive to put on her best self, no matter what she encounters. Her outlook is "She don't know what someone else is going through or challenged with, so she smiles over her troubles to bring a better experience to all around her. Then their smile Brightens her day behind her smile." She has an Angelic Soul and a godly spirit. In which being a Repeat Customer that enjoy seeing her share the service of her heart. Introducing an Angel (my favorite) ---Mrs Brittany B--- Employee/Leader of the Century: Steffen's Iconic worker who redefine multitasking. Watching her tie up loose ends, be the rock for the staff as well as the voice steering the restaurant to stay on main course. She is the light a good tornado with agility and impeccable performance to Lead by Outstanding Service. ---Mrs Alannah---

Food: Morning, Noon, Evening, or Night Cooked to perfection; my favorites Au gratin potatoes, Collard Greens, Biscuits, Fried Shrimp, Country Fried Steak and Onion rings.

Well, my first time being here. Clearly the place is popular, because there was zero parking available at 1030 on Sunday. We parked across the street, which was fine. Upon entering, we walked into a group of 10 people waiting for a place to sit. A worker told us tables are first come first serve, so if you see one take it. That was a daunting task, considering we were in a 6x6 space with 10 other people. It felt like a rat race. We finally got a table and sat down even though it was dirty with food that had not been cleared due to the FCFS policy. Somebody did clear the table after we sat at it. Onto the food and service. I ordered french toast and a side of chicken tenders. Fried pork chops were listed as a side, so I assumed chicken tenders would have been 3.50 like the chops. Wrong again.. 7 bucks. I also ordered sweet tea, which tasted like sulfur. Was never offered another drink or to remove it from my check, even after telling the server. I ordered chicken and rice. It showed up and looked like watery rice with tiny bits of chicken. That was a disappointment. I didn't eat it but 1 bite. Once again, wasn't removed from the check after telling the server. The French toast was alright. The last piece tasted like a dirty wash rag. I have a strong sense of smell and taste and that was a turn off. The chicken tenders were not worth what we were charged. Covered in gristle and had to use a knife to cut through them. Pretty presentation, lack luster in quality and taste. Checking out. This was a task. Back to that same 6x6 area to try and weave through the crowd to get to the register. For somebody with anxiety, this was crazy. I left and let my spouse cash us out. All in all, ehh.. been there and done that. Will probably be a long while and a different day if we do return.

Came in to eat brunch a couple days ago.. go past here often in route to NC and all I can say is" I will be making this a regular stop.." service was awesome, so welcoming which I really appreciate.. upon entering we had the sweetest woman greet us and then bring us hot biscuits and cornbread while we waited..our waitress name I believe was Rebecca and she was just as friendly, took our orders promptly and brought out coffee and sweet tea.. I had the omelette with Swiss and bacon.. delicious and the homefries I could have eaten a 2nd helping they were crispy but soft on the inside.. yummy.. companion had the Steffen Benedict.. I was totally impressed and the fried green tomatoes topping it was fantastic..if I had known how good they were I would had ordered fried green tomatoes appetizer but I will next time for sure.. the dining room is like walking into a 50s soda pop shop ..I love it.. though there busy it's not chaotic..and there is definitely a relaxed atmosphere for the diner's..I would highly recommend stopping here ..I look forward to trying other items on the menu .. Steffens you are one of the rare few places I've stopped to eat where not only was the prices great but the food was some of the best I eaten in my many travels.. can't wait to come back...

No greeters at the door, (although I counted no less than eleven different employess on a Saturday morning) and no sign to seat yourself; so I stood at the door for ten minutes waiting to be acknowledged. There is very little room inside the restaurant. Patrons must, quite literally, sidle along to reach a table or booth. The menu is very large indicating the specialty items may be in question; however the food is good and arrived quite fresh. I ordered New York strip with two eggs over easy, cheese grits, toast, and link sausage. I had a large orange juice to drink upon arrival and lemonade with my main entrees. My server, Brittany, was very friendly and attentive so I tipped her above the indicated amounts. Friendly service will get you everything! All in all, this was a better visit than the last six times I have eaten here; it is always crowded and the food is a local favorite. No complaints on the food but please pay attention to the customers as they enter! I felt ignored until a server asked me was I there for a to-go order.
