The Pizza Shop — Restaurant in Knox

There are several things wrong with this place and my experience being here. I grew up around the area and this was by far the strangest place I've been in. Decor and accessibility was very outdated, but the space was nice and the bathrooms were clean. Nowhere is it listed or mentioned that this is a cash only establishment, and the ever-so convenient ATM has a $3 charge. This may become a major inconvenience for anyone coming and looking for a cheaper meal

The service was fine, the people were polite and the pricing seemed fair for some items. Being as this may have been a family owned business, I find it to be kind of strange that they were conducting other family matters out in the dining area like dropping off and picking up younger children. The mother, about halfway through our meal, came out with some food and younger kids playing very loudly and the mother was openly breastfeeding in the dining area. I do not have a problem with women breastfeeding in public but I do believe there should be a line where it is unacceptable to be doing so and this is where the line should be, especially if there is no attempt to cover oneself.

Most of the pricing was understandable considering this may be a family owned business, however I went to order some pizza logs to go because it seemed like I was getting a standard of 3-4 logs for about $1.30. This was not the case. These people made me pay for however many logs for the previous price individually. I find this incredibly ridiculous and it makes me wonder if they make you pay for other sides individually as well. The pizza tasted fine, though my standards aren't high, but smelled like vomit and very quickly made me lose some of my appetite. Thankfully the water was free and cold, but still it tasted stale like it came from the dish...

We ordered 2 pepperoni and cheese “town squares” for our very first time ever at The Pizza Shop today and sadly, I would not recommend and will not return.

They are a cash only business. That information was not listed anywhere or relayed to me by anyone until I came to pick up and ONLY had my debit cards.

Conveniently they had their own ATM with a $3 service charge to use, that was even MORE conveniently “out of order”. So I had to leave, find a gas station, use their ATM and return to pay for my 2 pizzas.

At this point, I am irritated but hungry and hoping this pizza is to die for.

After getting to my sisters house, about 10 minutes away from The Pizza shop, I bit into my first piece and it was dry, very little sauce and also the crust was HARD like the pizza had sat for hours.

I give them 2 stars because the women behind the register at least apologized for not accepting Debit.

Usually The Pizza Shop is 5 stars! But this time it wasn't up to the greatness that I've known my entire life. The fries, waffle fries, and fried mushrooms tasted like the grease hadn't been changed in way too long. No one finished any of them they tasted like old grease so bad. Our burgers and wedgies were ok but not as good as usual and the wedgies were barely toasted. We live 6 hours away now and when we come back to visit family we always make a Pizza Shop run but this time was disappointing. Here's hoping next time is back to the same deliciousness we love, and...
