Gordy's Restaurant — Restaurant in La Pine

Planned my trip to stop here for my 10 hour break thinking I'll be able to eat in the restaurant. Stop truck, get parked, go in to be seated and first thing I notice is all the tables that haven't been bussed. I mean the ENTIRE restaurant is full of dirty dishes, uneaten food and flies. NOT a good sign I think to myself.

Young woman seats me, gets my drink order going and I notice there are two young children who are apparently hers, not that that is anything to wonder at or be concerned about but I WAS wondering why they were there at the dinner hour.

After about fifteen minutes and the arrival of a group of young men to the table in front of me she comes to them and explains that the restaurant is CLOSING, due to the wait staff walking off and her need to return to open the place at 6AM the next day. So I really can't speak to giving this place ANY kind of of a rating, as all I saw were flies, filth, uneaten food on dishes left all over the restaurant, and the tips the wait staff apparently just left in their hurry to escape.

Probably indicative of the quality and type of experience one should...

Fabulous Breakfast! 5-stars for a quaint diner with homemade, delightful meals!!

The breakfast was so delicious I came here twice during my trip!! The coffee was hot and perfect. They give you your own coffee carafe so you never run out during your meal (amazing!). I ordered the ham and cheese omelette. The eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection. There was an abundance of ham and the right amount of melted cheese. The hash browns were delightful and had the right amount of crisp to them without tasting burnt and had the right amount of butter. I opted for sourdough bread which was toasted and buttered exquisitely.

Great value for the price (which is very reasonable!). The meal was so perfect, I came back on my last day in La Pine just to have the same thing over again and it did disappoint.

Never had the chance of eating here before but I can tell you they are horrible at customer service. Walked in at 8:14 tonight to order food to go because that was the only choice. Of course being to go only nobody sitting at the tables and I was the only one there to place a to go order. 2 ladies I presume are waitresses there saw me numerous times waiting to place a to go order. Not one asked if I have been helped or would like to order. Finally 15 minutes after showing up 1 of the cooks came from the kitchen to take my order tho sadly had to tell me the register was down and it was cash only. There was humor in all this with the big sign on their door that says "help us keep our job, wear a mask" yet 2 people in the back 1 with a white hat and 1 with a green and yellow hat handling the food had no mask on. I guess lead by example...
