I enjoyed my first visit. I came on a weekend afternoon when it wasn't busy. The staff were attentive and the chicken panini was yummy. However, I recently visited again with my family and the experience was very different. I had talked this place up to them, so they had high expectations, but they didn't like it in the end. They were very busy on a Saturday morning, so it's understandable that the service wasn't the same, but a lot of things could be improved. We were a party of 5 and they sat us on 2 small tables they put together. We had zero space to eat comfortably. It would have been best to keep the 3 small tables to have more space for our plates and elbow space to feel more comfortable. Another thing that kind of irritated me was that the food all came out at very different times, so the first person's food was cold by the time everyone was served. Cold chilaquiles are not the same. My aunt ordered the steak sandwich and she had so much trouble chewing through the tough meat. She ended up eating everything except the meat until the end where she tried cutting it up to eat it. The pancake that came with the omelette was one of the worst pancakes I've ever tried. It was thick, tough and a little rubbery. It tastes like batter that you just just add water to. I couldn't eat it. I ordered the chorizo omelette. It was slightly overcooked. Omelettes, in my opinion, should be kind of light and airy. This one was full of chorizo (which is a good thing), but the chorizo was kind of dry and the egg was too. I doused it with salsa so it wouldn't be so dry. I decided to leave a review because it was a bit disappointing. It is still a good brunch spot, but just order a chicken panini or a crepe. The coffee was yummy and my dad said the chilaquiles had good flavor...
Read moreFirst things first gracias Doris my waitress for good customer service management should be proud of such excellent representative of the brand!! Doris confirmed and made suggestions of the quality frijoles fritos and artisan chorizo! About 10 minutes after I walked into Caramelo Cafe a line gathered outside of about 15 waiting customers on a Monday morning. The dining area was as at least 70% full. This place has many highlights of a scratch kitchen Artisan Chorizo, Cafe de La Olla, Frijoles Fritos, IMPRESSIVE GOOD WELL THOUGHT OUT FOOD TAKES TIME! Did I mention that ITALIAN BARISTA EXPRESSO MACHINE, STARBUCKS EAT YOUR HEART OUT!! Lol First impressions are in the name Carmelo Cafe is far from a cafe and the lite fare that usually come with that it deserves the Honor due to quality and several food choices a full fledged restaurant leaning towards Mexican food. Names can be deceiving for potential first time diners. Less not forget about those homemade Churros. The price point can be considered higher than usual but sometimes good food carries a slightly larger price point. Carmelo Cafe dining area basically consists of three dining rooms two rooms painted grey and one painted black with minimalist decorations. My first impression seated in the black painted room was wait a minute it kinda felt like a watering hole bar than a cafe. I had new* Huevos Rancheros Caramelo’s Huevos Rancheros; two homemade crispy tostadas with a layer of refried beans, two eggs any style and topped with our homemade ranchero salsa and queso fresco Add Home fries for $2.99 I give google review credit and the 1300 plus reviews credit for pointing me in the direction to Caramelo Cafe can’t wait to come back with my...

lol first and LAST time coming here.. waited an hour and 10 mins to still have to wait for them to bring a seat out to the table they wanted to sit me at.. the staff was absolutely useless when it came to suggesting anything after I told them it was my first time here.. the food is MID and they must not know how to follow instructions because I ordered my bacon EXTRA CRISPY and it was still almost raw.. ordered chiliquiles as well and ordered the eggs over medium and the cooks must be incompetent and not know what that means cuz that is not over medium.. this place is WAYYY OVERPRICED for the quality of things they serve you... paper straws? Really? The owners must be too cheap and too retarded to not know that FOREVER CHEMICALS have been found in paper straws so they literally giving you things that will poison you.. 15.50 for some French toast and only give you 2 little syrup cups? WILD!! Nothing says the owners are cheap suckjobs like serving their customers with little syrup cups instead of buying it by the jug and filling up bottles... it was also nice that I had to wait 15 mins before our server came to ask us how our untouched food was because we where served it without any condiments.. real cool I had to wait 15 mins for 2 cups of syrup and some ketchup.. it was also cool to have fruit flys flying all over and landing on my straw that was in my $7 "fresh pressed" orange juice which I had asked for ice and never got.. I would be absolutely astonished at how this place gets so much business but the people in this area don't know ANYTHING about what quality food and good service is so no surprise.. DEFINITELY a waste of money and a...
