I really like Kaldi’s cafes, and overall I really like this Kaldi’s location. The staff is friendly and there’s almost always sufficient seating, at least at the times I go in. I especially like that this location is open until 5 (currently), including on Sundays. [It’s a pet peeve of mine that so many St. Louis area cafes close early, though I don’t blame the cafes themselves.]
Kaldi’s staff at this location are friendly and professional. The baked goods are yummy and the drinks are great…when made well.
I usually get a mocha at Kaldi’s, and I’ve been getting them at various Kaldi’s in the STL area for over 6 years. When made correctly, I particularly like Kaldi’s mochas because they are flavorful but not overly sweet.
Most of the time, the mochas I’ve had from this particular Kaldi’s are great. However, now and then—like today—I have one that tastes watered down. When this happens, I usually tell myself not to be too annoyed because on the upside, I’m probably consuming fewer calories. Today I didn’t feel like excusing it, and it’s just really annoying.
In theory I can ask to have the drink remade, but is it worth it? The person today (curly hair and scarf/bandana) was the only person behind the counter. If she made it wrong the first time, why would she be able to figure out how to make it better a second time? (And it was definitely made wrong because I’ve had many Kaldi’s mochas.) She will assume she made it correctly and ask me what to change. I’m honestly not sure why it tastes watered down. Maybe it just needs more of the chocolate? Maybe it’s something else like the espresso?
Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but maybe a bit better quality control and training to make sure the product is consistently good is the better approach. The person who helped me today was professional, but just needs some guidance in how to...
Read more16 oz coffee and a muffin for $13+. It was really full with people mulling around, to the point of uncomfortable number of people. The vibe was "I am special, I am important" type of crowd, (the woman feeding her overweight pug a pastry at the dining table). The coffee wasn't anything spectacular, or maybe gas station coffee has closed the gap, 🤷♂️. I will say this, BRAVO Blueberry Muffin Maker, you slayed the day. Took me 1 minutes and 32 seconds from pick up counter to the exit door (yes, I timed it) trying to politely get through the mass of special important people that block the aisles to have important conversations and ignore people that aren't special requesting to pass through their little hen peck. Right outside the door to the south is a really cool metal chair shaped like a butterfly. Sat down next to a man smoking a synthetic marijuana joint, "cuz it don't show up when yo PO make you drop." Just another benefit of...
Read moreI came early in the morning before work and got a breakfast burrito and a large cold brew.
My burrito tasted like it was made with love. They don’t skimp on filling it up and the ingredients taste very fresh. My cold brew was also very good. This place is really cute on the inside, it definitely fits Clayton’s vibe while also being comfy and the live plants really make the inside feel cozy.
Only downside is it is a bit expensive, $18 for my order, however the food and drink are very good and the inside is very nice, and being situated in Clayton it’s...
