I gave 5 stars for food because for the last 6 weeks I've often treated myself to treats from Java Joz and i have never had something that wasn't absolutely delicious (they even heat up my treats when I ask because they go the extra mile like that. That's also why I gave 5 stars for service. They're EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, attentive (if you drink a lot of coffee you know how many syllables those orders can be!). I also love the atmosphere. They are not a sit in location BUT they do over gazebos and other sitting options outside. Coffee AND vitamin D!
Besides that: Java Joz is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Lafayette.
To start:I personally know the family who assumed management of this local gem a year ago and I have a front row seat to the attention to detail, passion for excellence and the standards and integrity that this shop is built and operates on. They sometimes work late nights and early mornings to provide the highest levels or customer service.
When it comes to their sauces as syrups, they are committed to shopping and supporting local (and even go the extra mile to support locally sourced coffee). As somebody who tries to make environmentally friendly decisions, I appreciate that my coffee drinks don't leave a nasty carbon footprint.
I absolutely love the collaboration efforts I see from Java Joz. They are always creating new partnerships in the community AND enthusiastically supporting those businesses through their own social media and marketing efforts . I know of NO other small business that cheers other small businesses on with such kindness and gusto. Not only do they support other small biz, but I love that when I drive through to get a drink, I can get a sweet treat from another local small biz. Win, win.
And truly, their coffee is delicious. I love both their house blends and their speciality drinks. Their social media presence makes it easy to choose which drink to order. Also, their social media presence is 🔥. Their social media coordinator is exceptionally talented and captures their drinks so creatively...
Read moreMy wife and I starting coming here when we first started dating. We used to bring our dogs for a ride, pick up our coffee, get a couple milk bones for the dogs, chit chat with Rob or Marcia for a moment, and then leave with delicious, reasonably priced coffee. During Christmas, we used to count down the days to Rob's birthday. They hired staff that genuinely cared about their customers. It was just a really good small coffee shop. One of those movie type coffee shops that you don't think exist but this one did. This one was perfect!
Since this coffee shop has sold, it has gone downhill at an alarming speed! Prices have increased at a ridiculous amount, TWICE this year, the service is just not the same, the drinks do not taste the same, all of the food is different, and it's just bad. For reference, they raised the price once in the 10 years we were going there. ONCE!! There is no small talk, only being rushed and annoyed looks as you order your coffee. The only thing that has not changed is you still get your free cookie and they have their frequent flier card. I'm sure these will be worked out soon enough. So much for being my only coffee shop in town. I will never return to this place again. Under new management does not mean better. This guy has...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped to try this place for the first time. We got 2 drinks and a cinnamon roll. Spent over $20! I got a frozen Caramel Macchiato and my husband got an iced Caramel Macchiato. Then we asked for the stand frosted cinnamon roll but they were got. The worker at the window said they had a caramel cinnamon roll. We said we could take it. It was covered in pecans and some frosting but there didn't seem to be any caramel. Unless that is what the frosting was supposed to be. However, they never said anything about pecans. We had no interest in a pecan cinnamon roll. Nut allergy! That's a major concern. Could have really harmed us or someone from lack of information. Anyways, the coffee wasn't very good. Didn't care for the roast at all. Was very sweet. Also, it took FOREVER to get to the window to order. Then, FOREVER to get our order. The girls working just seemed to be playing around. We will likely not try again because it was really expensive. I wouldn't want to spend that much money to give...
