Coody Brown's Lakeside Grill — Restaurant in Lagrange

Was so looking forward to going here! The server was ok, but we waited almost an hour for our food after we ordered! Not the servers fault! I had the taco salad, the shell, which is normally my favorite part of the salad was awful, tasted like very old grease! I thought maybe it was just me, so two others at the table tasted it, and agreed. Left an awful taste in our mouths! I told the server, just an apology, but still paid for that with hardly eaten salad due to awful taste! Then it was time for Bill. Only the bartender can create the bill. We waited about 40 minutes to get our bill. The bartender just kept serving the people at the bar and ignoring our server checki g on the bill every chance he got. Finally got the bill, we gave money and bill to server, he took it to bar tender, again our money laid there for another 20 some minutes out in the open where anyone could grab it, while bar tender continued to take care of the bar! I feel first things first! I will never go back to this place again, almost 3 hours at a restaurant just to get dinner is rediculas! Very inconsiderate bar tender, more worried about the tips she will receive at the bar than people waiting for their bill so they can get on with...

I have to say I use to love to go here. The atmosphere is nice and kid friendly as they can feed the fish. However the last few visits have been very disappointing. The service has been slow and food barely warm, and the salad bar has less and less options. I know lake season can be busy so I have overlooked some things, but this visit will be my last. We arrived at 6:00pm and was seated at 6:20. Not too awful of a wait. Ordered by 6:30, going pretty well. Did I mention I had my daughter and son with us and a 2 and 1 year old. At 7:00 I had to stop the server and ask for refills, and at 7:30 I asked her to please check on the food as 4 other tables were seated after us and already had their food. She preceded to say they got nachos( all 4 tables🙄) and they don’t take as long. At 7:45 my grand kids were screaming and so over it. Just as we are asking for our drink bill she brings the food out. One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the bluegill basket and had the best fish I've ever had. The bluegill were fried to perfection. I'm not even kidding when I say that it was perfectly fried. A great golden brown. I got the tater tots and they were also just as crispy and just as golden brown. Call ahead and get a reservation so you can sit outside on the deck. you can feed the fish and then turtles and have a great experience. There's giant carp, catfish, turtles That come up and eat the fries and food you throw at them. That's very cool to see The kids loved it. My mother ordered a half order of the Loaded Nachos appetizer and it was extremely huge. The kids ordered the grilled cheese and absolutely loved it.
