Pats of Henderson 6:30PM 2 adults (mid 30s) 4.9 out of 5 Wife and I made reservations to go here about 2 weeks ago. We haven't been since it re-opened and wanted to get back at it since we missed it. Circled the lot and found a decent spot, but this place usually (and later it did) has vehicles parked in the grass. We were greeted promptly by the host stand and confirmed our reservation. The first thing that stood out from our previous visit was the open feeling to it. No more darker foyer and closed off walls. Open feeling, yet still "divided" areas to identify the bar area and general dining. The place was pretty full and would continue to gather more and more as the night went on. Wife and I made our way over to the bar to order something to drink since we arrived about 30-40 mins early intentionally to have a drink and talk, but also observe the environment. Very laid back and comfortable environment. It always seems like a place you'd dress up in jeans and collared shirt at a minimum, yet it's typically full of those wearing shorts and fishing shirts, or the other ways of sports jackets and slacks. Not critiquing, just an observation. Our bartender got our order for drinks. Wife ordered a bloody mary with no idea of how it'd be presented or prepared, but wasn't disappointed. Made well and garnished accordingly. I simply ordered a double of apple crown on the rocks. Mine was $20 and hers was $16. We sat in the waiting area and enjoyed each others company while we waited and chatted. Bartender was Lindsey and was very polite and attentive to us. We were sat about 3-5 minutes before our scheduled reservation. Our server was Victoria. A wonderfully pleasant lady that greeted us with a smile, was extremely polite and attentive, and made great suggestions. We simply had water as our drinks once seated to eat. We started with a trio of appetizers. First we split a single crab cake and this would be the precursor of how our night would go. Very good, well done and flavorful. As though being escorted by the crabcake, the 2 cups followed it holding our shrimp and okra gumbo and the lobster bisque. Both very good, sized and served right, and full of flavor. Entrée consisted of a stuffed red snapped topped with shrimp étouffée. Great flavor and consistency. Portion was on point. Sides were a garden salad and asparagus. Asparagus were seasoned with more than just butter and black pepper and it was obvious. Very good! Seemed to be just slightly overcooked according to my wife, and I'd agree. Not enough to raise a fuss at all though, as they're still pretty good. Other entrée was the seafood pasta. It didn't wow me like the rest of the meal did, but it's not to say that it wasn't very good or full of flavor. We both enjoyed it very much. It was served with a garden salad as well, along side the sweet potatoe casserole. It was topped/crusted with brown sugar and pecans. By my own fault, I burned my mouth haha. But we both enjoyed it and it was almost like a dessert for us. Unfortunately, we can't eat near as much as we used to, so getting to-go boxes and skipping dessert were the wise choices made. We were kinda bummed about it, but knew we were in no shaped to do otherwise. Final bill on dinner portion was $119.00. So we dropped about 2 bills for the entire night with tips. We were very happy with the visit and plan to attend again. It was very good to see the refresh done and a local place back up and running after the extreme years 2020-2021 placed on our area. Having a pleasant server and great chefs make coming back here a simple...
Read moreFriday night was my anniversary and we decided to finally try Pat's of Henderson. I went online and reserved a table. We went and done an art project at another place and it was running late, so I moved our reservation. We finished earlier than we assumed.
We arrived 25 minutes before our reservation and we were seated promptly at a corner table. This place is so elegant. We were greeted by a server very quickly and our waters were filled. I ordered a southern sangria and it was great. My husband ordered a dos xx. We ordered one crab cake. Which was one of the BEST ones we have ever had. This crab cake was not full of filler and breading. It was full of crab. I ordered a shrimp and catfish dinner with a wedge salad and a baked potato. My husband ordered the risotto with a salad and asparagus. I noticed another table had French bread so I asked our waiter for some. It came out and was great. I then ordered a skinny chocolate martini. It threw me off because it's clear. But it was phenomenal. We received our food and we did not receive our salads. I waved down our waiter, Tristan, and he got to working on it and apologized. Would food was great. My husband bragged about how good the risotto was, I tried it, but I'm not a huge fan. But I think it's a texture issue for me. My shrimp was cooked perfectly. The fish had a great batter. But that wedge salad! OooOo it was perfect. Just wish I would have received it prior to our meal. We ordered a chocolate lava cake. Our waiter tried to offer to purchase it since the salads were not delivered. I would not let him The chocolate lava cake was great. Back in 2019 we received a giftcard for Pat of Henderson. Then covid hit and i was pregnant, so we didn't go eat. Then the hurricanes hit and it was destroyed. We have small kids and we don't get many nights out. We attempted to use our giftcard and our waiter told me he couldn't do it due to how many numbers are on the back. The manager did not come over to discuss it, but we just paid for the full total and left with our Togo box. I'm sad that our giftcard could not be used. Will we go back, yes, but not for a while. Everything was great except for the salads not coming out before the meal, how long it took for our food to come out, and that we weren't able to use...
Read more2 weeks ago my sister and her husband decided to take me and my two other cousins which were out of towners to some fine dining casual lunch in Louisiana lake Charles. It was a very nice restaurant everything was going good till the hostess, how many we were sitting and we told her and she said that there is a little weight but if anything that is she considers in the bar area which there is nobody there except this one man you know eating his food and but the dining room I guess it is full. Will my cousin and I we went to the restroom 🚻 I looked around and I see there was plenty of seating. Now mind you be there was like there was like six people that were looking or waiting on other people and they did not come yet. So I see there is three people came in and they and they set them down, there was a group of five men, they set them down. Now one of the groups they set them down because the other parties were finally came, but we're still waiting, so the manager decided to put us in the bar area where everybody in the well-lit area she put us in the bar area which is dull dark couldn't really see the menu or anything. And I was upset but I grumbled under my breath and my sister see that I was unhappy about everything because those people did not have reservations. Now they frequent that restaurant and my other family members they were like surprised to how they treated us because that was not right because when we went in the back they were plenty of seats in the well-lit area. So finally the manager came and my sister spoke with her and told her I thought that we could have been inside the well-lit area because we were in this dark area and she said "Oh I thought that y'all wanted to be back here"everybody in the front room and we're in the back that is completely BS. Long story short we were able to move in the front like everybody else because even other people were coming in and they put them in the area we had a color of variety of people with us. I didn't feel like we were treated equally. The food was okay. But it was a fine...
