The Beach Bucket — Restaurant in Lake Charter Township

Malt and milkshake lovers steer clear! My family and I stopped in to get some ice cream treats last night and it was not a pleasant experience. My husband got a vanilla milkshake and I got a chocolate malt. His shake tasted like spoiled milk that had been sitting out on the counter for over an hour. He only took a few sips, thinking it would get better...but it didn't. He ended up having stomach pains and felt off the rest of the night. My malt had entirely too much malt mix...that's all I could taste. I drank about a quarter of it and had to stop because the taste was so unpleasant, and that's coming from someone that likes a strong malt flavoring taste. My son had the best experience out of all of us and enjoyed his scoop of Blue Moon. I don’t normally write reviews but, last week me and two buddies were going to do a microbrewery tour in Bridgman. We stop at this place called Beach Bucket and that was probably the best move that we did all day. We filled up on puled pork sandwiches, dogs and burgers… a really good value for 3 guys…. Under 30 bucks and we were filled up. I got the pulled pork sandwich and Chicago dog. I was able to get souvenirs for the kids… saltwater taffy, gourmet popcorn and cotton candy. The best part and the whole reason why I am writing the review is the Choclinator…. This is by far the best ice cream that I have experienced…. I visited twice recently, and I'd say the first visit was 5 stars and the second was 1 star. On the second visit, a man (an owner maybe?) was confusingly running a "lot full" sign back and forth from the entrance and gestured angrily at us when we tried to enter the lot (since we saw someone backing out of a spot). It was overly aggressive for something that didn't really cause an issue, and put a damper on the experience for us. Even worse, the same man then sat less than 10 feet from our table smoking the whole time (gross, and doesn't do much for the ice cream flavor). The ordering was a bit chaotic, but the ice cream looked great and the flavor selection was fun. It just wasn't enjoyable given the other issues...
