What a wonderful experience we had today at this restaurant. From the food to the service we truly enjoyed our time here. Our server was Cindy who was very knowledgeable and kind. At one point during the meal I dropped my knife on the floor and Tracy came over telling me to leave it she would get it cause I was eating and I didn't need to get my hands dirty♡.
They have a menu you can order off of from burgers and sandwhiches to meals, salads and such. They also offer a buffet with everyday showcasing something different.
I will tell you the food here was so good. From my first bite of the biscuit to the last, it was one of those comfort food moments. The kind that make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. Buttery, a hint of salt, soft inside and just enough crumble to ensure you are careful not to lose 1 morsel! Todays buffet showcased boiled and fried shrimp. Let me tell you how much I loved this fried shrimp. Tender, sweet, and just enough breading to compliment not overwhelm. They had broccoli with cheese sauce available if you wanted it. Potato salad that reminded me of a family backyard bbq. Collard greens were great, baked beans were yummy, the mac n cheese was seasoned well and for me they had the yummiest lima beans! I went back for more of those little bits of yumminess! They also offerd rice and gravey as well. There was fried chicken that I believe is a staple in all of their buffets. I tried a little of almost everything offered on todays buffet except dessert (darn lima beans left me no room but too good to pass on seconds). The buffet comes with a drink, your meal and dessert. I must say this is now one of my top places. From service to scrumptious food this is definitely a place to try. It is not a big fancy chain restaurant.... it is however a local...
Read moreOverview: 5/5 We were up in Lake City to for tire service and it was going to be awhile. So my wife and I searched the “Google” and found this place. What a find!!
Ambiance : 5/5 Ok I really struggled with whether to give it a 4 or a 5. It is “country”, nothing fancy but open high tops and tables. It was welcoming environment for two girls who were clearly from out of town. Seems like the staff knew everyone in there by name. I went with 5 because the waitress did say they were getting new tables and chairs so that will give it an upgrade.
Food/Drink 5/5 We thought we were going for breakfast but held out a 1/2 hour for the lunch turnover. On the waitress’ recommendation we chose the buffet. At $14.99 it was AMAZING!!! Fried shrimp, peel and eat shrimp, chicken, Mac and cheese, white rice, collard greens, and broccoli that was NOT mushy. For dessert we had banana pudding and carrot cake. Of the item we did not get but also looked fresh and good (corn on the cob, yellow rice, Lima beans, pasta salad, corn bread, chicken gizzards and a variety of other dessert cakes.
Unlimited sweet tea, coffee and lemon water was our beverages of choice.
Service : 5/5 Very friendly staff, waitress was helpful and on the ball checking in us but not smothering.
Conclusion : I would ride up to Lake City again to try the Friday buffet that rumor has it is...
Read moreOur family went there for the lunch buffet on a Friday. They had smoked chicken and ribs and fried fish. With all the sides you'd expect to go with those meats. Everything was delicious. It wasn't 5 buffet tables deep like Golden Corral, but that place is going for quantity, whereas Kountry Korner is serving quality. The chicken and ribs were so delicious I didn't need barbecue sauce. I was so full from lunch that I skipped supper.
The staff were very nice and helped us find something my kid could eat. Which was a relief to a parent of a picky eater. This allowed us to enjoy the delicious buffet and not struggle with what to feed our kid.
This restaurant is a rare find. Locally owned with cooks who can make southern food the way your grandmother did and put it all on a buffet table.
It's close to the interstate I-10. But check the times. They aren't always open, and the buffet isn't always up. But if you can make it, you won't be...
