Chic Sweets — Restaurant in Lake Hallie

I had Chic Sweets make cupcakes and a small cake for my wedding. I will start by saying she (the owner) is a great baker. Her cupcakes and cake are delicious and well-made. But you can't just have a great product when you own a business. The service matters too. When I first entered her storefront, which isn't there anymore, the gentleman behind the counter knew next to nothing. I am pretty sure he was just a stand-in to call for his wife (the owner) to come and take care of the customer. We got the wedding starter pack which is a couple different cupcakes to try and a sit down with the owner to figure out what you want for the wedding. After we decided to go with her, the communication was severely lacking. I called and tried to communicate with her multiple times, leaving voicemails, with no call back. When I finally got ahold of her, I was told what I wanted for my cake would be a lot more money than what was originally quoted. The cupcakes were delicious however the service was mediocre at best. The website hours say one thing and the Facebook hours say another thing. Scheduled cupcakes 3 months in advance and was only able to communicate through messenger since they never answered the phone. On the answering machine it says the best way to get a response was through gmail and I tried that as well and never got a response. Finally a week or so before my event I messaged again and got a response 2 days later. No delivery and no set up, that was things I had to figure out which was unclear when I ordered since they wanted to know the venue and such. Had to go pick up and door was locked and when inside the floor was so sticky I could hear my shoes stick every step I took. Poor...

First time here and arrived on a Friday afternoon. Waited at the dessert display and cashier register for about 10 mins. There were no customers around and no staff on duty. No service bell. No sign indicating staff was on break or whatnot. Dessert display had a limited selection of cupcakes and one small cake. Not sure if there are always limited desserts on a daily basis despite menu offering a lot more options. May not come again due to poor customer service as I am not sure if it's always like this. Was looking forward to trying desserts but left after 10 mins of not seeing anyone around...
