Came in for my birthday, was greeted by the female hostess and after being told there was a wait we decided to do the patio. She then helped another set of people before us, sat them and then came came back and forgot about us. After a few minutes we reminded her we wanted to sit outside, noticing her body language made me think she was on some type of psychotropic drug .
Got sat, the landscaping right outside the patio was nice but really didn't have a view unless you like staring at the houses. Maybe if they had a fire pit outside it would make it a bit more attractive and there was plenty of wasted/open space. Got order taken by gentleman in his 40s I believe, don't remember his name as he didn't mention it and seemed quite forgettable but nice nonetheless. Ordered steak which was cooked on point, but sadly the fries I ordered were cold..
Sadly that means they aren't cooked to order and got cold in the window or sitting in the fryer basket, got it replaced with fresh after flagging down the manager as the waiter probably had too many tables to deliver what I call great service (checking back after first bite). Got corn on the cob as well but nothing special.
Bar Manager, Front of the House Manager I believe but no Kitchen Manager. Shows you how little the owners respect food, or the people that break their back to prepare it and make it. And honestly you can see it in the food. Old Boomers with money to burn, and they surely will burn it as they honestly do not really understand a Restaurant even though they think they do. You can make it look good, design a good menu and spend stupid amount of money on custom tables but if your heart of the establishment isn't right then nothing else matters. I'll be honest I had the "pleasure" to meet the owners and they flat out told me they don't think Chefs are worth their money. Stupidity I swear.
29 dollars I paid for the whole plate I believe, nothing special. Cost of the plate was probably $9-11 so pretty high mark up and with everything else said don't think it was worth it. Nothing seems special about the place, why call it boat house grill when it doesn't really embrace the name or built a theme around it? Should specialize in more seafood but it's havasu, boring food,...
Read moreIf you are concerned that a restaurant you are dining at is following social distancing and Covid 19 measures it would be best to go somewhere else. The staff have masks, but they are wearing them under their noses and touching/contaminating them and other surfaces constantly. The restaurant was not busy but sections were closed so all of the diners were sat close together. The bar was sat to capacity with no space between parties.
These things don’t matter to everyone but if it’s important to you, than it’s best to be aware. We were out of town in need of a dine in option. We waited until the off hours so to avoid a lunch or dinner rush. We called ahead and asked if they were busy and inquired about spacing... This is my main issue. At this time the hostess could obviously tell we would be concerned with proper Covid guidelines being followed. Knowing that her restaurant is disregarding these protocols she could have told us it was busy and dissuaded us from coming. Instead she said it was slow and everything was set up. It wasn’t. When we arrived we were lead through an empty section to a packed section. We then requested to sit on the patio in order to feel comfortable and have any space between us and other diners. The hostess was rather incredulous/rude at the request. It was 2 in the afternoon and 100+ degrees outside. I’m sure they weren’t planning on sitting the patio at that time. We did not especially want to sit outside, but didn’t see another option. In hindsight I wish we had just left. I don’t like to cause any kind of scene. Hopefully this review will save someone else the same discomfort. The waitress was excellent I’m sorry I did not get her name. She was great in every way ( although I feel like it even if management here does not require that masks be worn properly. It would have been nice if she had put hers on. Seeing as we were wearing ours, sitting outside, etc and would obviously expect the same) Still, her service was by far the best part of the experience. Food is...
Read moreI can only rate the service. I went there a couple of hours ago, excited to try it out, as I'd heard good things. I stood at the concierge desk for 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Someone was leaving it as I walked in. As I waited, a waiter walked by 3 times with no acknowledgment. When the young woman finally appeared she just stood there looking at me with a look on her face I can only describe as annoyed. She didn't speak. So I said, "Hello, there are 3 of us here for dinner. We don't have a reservation." She said (with a frown on her face and an annoyed sounding voice, "We don't do reservations." Then nothing. She just stared at me, making me uncomfortable until I said, ok, so your sign says Wait To Be Seated. I'm trying to be seated." She then said, with a smirk this time, "Then you need to be on a list!" I said, " Ok, I'm trying to get on a list. Where do I put my name on it?" She loudly said, "I don't know!" I said, "You don't know?" Then she just stood there looking angry and annoyed. She didn't ask my name so I volunteered and spelled it. Then she started writing on the sheet chart off to the side. She spelled my name wrong (4 letters) and wrote party of 2 instead of 3. There were a few other people waiting so I asked how long she thought it might be. She literally glared at me by then and said, "I don't know!" At that point, I told my husband and mother-in-law, "We're leaving! I can't believe that gal is so rude!" So we left.
But the night wasn't a bust after all! We'd also heard of The Blue Chair restaurant down by London Bridge. We went there. The concierge desk staff was very friendly and efficient. When I asked how long the wait might be she said, "Under 30 minutes." The food was awesome! Server was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was fun!
