Tabby’s Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Lake Placid

I came in for a take out order. It was a Thursday so it was Trivia night. It was quite packed which is a testament to people enjoying coming here.

I ordered a take out order of 24 wings. The staff was exceptionally friendly and patient with my ordering.

Due to how busy it was, the staff told me it would be a bit of a wait for my order to be completed. I was fine with that. The order actually came out fairly quickly and it didn't feel like a long wait at all.

I ordered two kinds of wings. I found the wings to be average. They're pretty pricey so I expected a lot as well as everyone telling me the wings were amazing here. I didn't find them to be amazing but I also didn't find the be terrible. I would just say their average for a decent restaurant. I think what makes them not as good for me as maybe for other people is I don't find their sauces are out of this world. Again they're just average.

Doing sizes are pretty good and have a lot of meat. I like my wings a little bit crispy even if they're not breaded but these ones were kind of a little bit soft and chewy on the outside. I think that was the skin and maybe that was from being in the container and the heat kind of steaming them a little bit which also took away from them being incredible wings and just average.

I definitely wouldn't tell anyone to not try this place out. I would just say that you're probably going to enjoy it but you may not absolutely love it. That's just my opinion and maybe there's some other opinions that are different but that's mine. I will give it a solid...

We're visiting Lake Placid, on vacation from Tampa, FL. We saw Tabby's Bar and Grill as we were coming to our airbnb late Thursday night. It looked like an interesting place. Our airbnb host also recommended it.

We decided to stop in for some food about 130 Friday afternoon. We brought our large dog with us. He was welcome into the restaurant, not only by staff, but by other patrons as well. We asked for a bowl of water and they brought us a bucket. Several other patrons and staff played with him.

We had a few of the pineapple mango margaritas. Okay more than a few (they were bogo). They were absolutely delicious. We shared a potato skin appetizer, and then a baker's dozen of wings. We got them naked, bone in. We tried the teriyaki sauce and the garlic parmesan. They were some of the best wings we've ever had.

I do not remember the server's first name, but her last name was Kirk. I remember that because she named her dog Captain, as in Captain Kirk. She was one of the best servers we have ever had. She was very friendly, she was on top of service, our drinks were never empty. And the food was served very promptly. I couldn't ask for a better waitress.

I would recommend this establishment to anyone. I have zero complaints. Everything about it it was an incredible experience.

Changed menu and made it tricky to see what you're ordering. Had a burger asked for onion rings as a side they wanted to charge a full 8 dollar appetizer. I chose Cole slaw which was not good and contained maybe had ice cream scoop of cole slaw. My mom ordered fries with her burger. Along came the bill and they charged 1.50 for a side of fries with the burger. In very fine print the only free sides are Cole slaw and chips. What a joke and how deceiving. The waitress seemed to be amused that we hadn't seen the fine print. Service was not good. The lady had an attitude and was rushed the entire time at 4pm and the guy server was more interested in socializing with friends at the bar. I've been going to Tabbys for years, don't know what happened but whatever it is..ITS NOT WORKING. We will not return until things get better. Each burger was 13.99 with two dollars off special.
