A Hidden Gem in the Hills of Pennsylvania – Red Rooster
If you’re looking for a cozy restaurant that combines charm, incredible food, and a touch of magic, Red Rooster is the place to be. Nestled in the hills of Pennsylvania, this small-town treasure is tucked away from the usual crowds, offering a serene and intimate dining experience.
The interior decor immediately captures your heart. Floral wallpaper adorns the walls, perfectly complemented by rustic solid wood furniture. Soft country music plays in the background, while rooster-themed trinkets and pictures add a whimsical touch to the space. It’s no surprise to learn that the owner, Dabi, has lovingly run this place on her own for an impressive 37 years.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I visited for breakfast, and the variety of omelets was truly impressive. The flavors were absolutely unforgettable! I opted for the Carolina omelet, filled with tender pork and gooey cheese. Paired with a cup of tea served in a charming retro teapot, the whole experience felt like something out of a delightful fairytale.
The service was equally exceptional—warm, cheerful, and attentive. The staff seemed genuinely happy to answer every question with a smile and share little stories about the place, making the experience all the more special for curious diners like me.
Red Rooster isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Don’t miss it if you’re ever...

Then when we went to pay bill they changed for thr sausage gravy wow can't believe this place !!!! The manager said do you go the the store and buy food and take it back if you don't like it unbelievable!!! we eat out a lot and never experienced anything like this they give food...
Read moreHere's what I ordered. Country sausage and gravy over biscuits. This is what I received: ground hot Italian sausage with white wall paper paste over a single biscuit. And the biscuit was a 4" square roughly half an inch high. I sent it back, the waitress told me it's fennel sausage, and did I want a box for it. No I didn't want a box, (it wasn't going to magically change into country sausage if I take it for a ride. ) My husband ordered a country omelette, he received 6 huge lumps of potatoes, raw in the middle, skins on, tasted earthy, about a Tbl. of diced ham, salad bar small, 1 Tbl. of raw green pepper and raw onions that made his eyes water. And how can you make pancakes mushy in the middle and dark brown on the outside! They added to the insult by charging us for the uneaten, falsely described, meal. Told me that their was nothing wrong with the food, it was my choice not to eat it. And you don't go to a grocery store and buy food then return it because you didn't like it! I told her ,I don't buy food I don't like at the...
