Island Frydays Catering — Restaurant in Lakeland

We were super fortunate to not miss this fire food truck during Flightoberfest at Sun'N'Fun recently!

First off, the chef Leo & Sasha are sO kind & welcoming. He made the bEST Fish N Chips!! Our boys were STILL asking for it daays later; the pickled toppings & massive amount of fries were so prime for the untraditonal, but seriously superior version of this dish!

So I’m hanging out at Brewlando, in Orlando FL, and this long black pimped out food truck trailer pulls up outside, three axles, two rooftop a/c units, decked out from top to bottom, but no logos or signage. I’m thinking, who is this? I give it a minute and walk outside to check it out. A vinyl banner hung on the other side read “Island Frydays, Jamaican Cruisine”. A few beers in and hungry, I have to try this. Let me tell you, Bahama Breeze has nothing on this. By far, the best Jamaican jerk chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life and my friends agreed! This food truck is something special. The owners, who were working the truck, sweating it out, and delivering the food to order were super cool peeps and from Jamaica! Love love love the food! I ordered two jerk chicken sandwiches with fries and a beef patty, the food didn’t take long to get. The owner informed me that there were only two patty’s left and both were too dark to serve and gave me samples of other items on the menu. I get to the car and open the bags to see He had given us a sample of OXTAILS with rice and peas and cabbage and another sample of the jerk wings and macaroni and plantains. Customer service on 1000! And the FOOD!!!
