The food was good and the service was great. Why 2 stars? The whole experience was weird. Let me explain. When you get there, the restaurant is attached to a banquet hall. There was a paper sign on a door with a broken handle indicating the entrance to the restaurant. There's no place to hang your coat. The table was absurdly wobbly (we moved to another one). The booth seat was detached from the base. The menus were stained (this may seem petty, but it would cost 5 cents to reprint and replace). The waitress then pointed out that they were out of many things on the menu. Also, the menu prices were wildly different than the website (example $125 item - $160). The bread was served. It was served with hummus. On the website: "Baked breads are brought in from Paris, delivering the art of French patisseries to Estreia patrons." The bread rolls were no different than anything you get anywhere else. We ordered risotto balls which were great, but served on a sad bed of chopped lettuce and halved tomatoes. The rest of the meal was fine. It really wasn't what the website claims: "The Estreia experience is designed to provide the utmost in glatt kosher fine dining. Every item on the menu is selected for its delectable taste and prepared with artistic precision. The result is an array of innovative cuisine that dazzles the eye and delights the palate."
Overall, the food and service were fine. I just expected a whole lot more and the small things matter when you're buying...

We waited 20 minutes to be served bread and menus after sitting down.
25 minutes after ordering they gave our bill when we didn't get any food yet!!!!
They said they were closing the kitchen at 9. We got there at 8 and our bill at 845 with no food.
When we finally received our food, they didn't bring us the appetizer we ordered.
They subsequently gave us our appetizer after our entree was served. The steak ordered was well done when we ordered medium, the lamb was oversalted and onion rings extremely oversalted and the duck was grey in color. The sweet bread was served with canned vegetables and was fried in too thick a batter which left it hot on the outside and lukewarm on the inside.
In all the time we never received more water.
I really can't recommend this place when we paid so much money for our meal and everything was very...
Read moreMy wife and I ate at Estreia last night for our anniversary. I had requested a quiet corner table and it was ready when we arrived. I rarely write positive reviews because I am frankly too lazy and bc a glowing review at a kosher restaurant is rarely earned. However, our experience last night was off the charts. The staff was friendly, attentive and on their game all night. The food was OUTSTANDING, another rare occurrence at a kosher restaurant. My wife had the Asian beef spring rolls and Bordelaise short ribs. I had the baby lamb chops and the Delmonico steak. Everything was served with beautiful style and the portions were very generous. The lamb chops and steak were cooked exactly the way we liked. What surprised me the most were the prices. Compared to other high end kosher steak houses, the prices were quite fair. I would definitely go back...
