Zero Stars!!! I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico.
We ate here today, Monday,01/06/25,around 3:30 p.m., it was our first visit. I had read the mixed reviews on line.
If you look at my profile and see other reviews, I am usually not this direct. But it is warranted. The food sucked!
I would NOT recommend this place for Authentic Mexican Food!!!
Pros: Server was polite. Nice Decor. Good Margaritas for $6. as the Monday Special. Not for $15. Regularly.
Cons: Loud music. Even the Happy Hour Prices were high based on the quality and skimpy portions. Rice was cold and dried out. Server was made aware.
THE PICS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
Not much apologies or remedy relayed from the server.
We were very disappointed and will not be returning. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to family or friends.
We paid the check and were sitting talking. Server said she was leaving. Less than 5 minutes later came back without her Mexican Dress on, was in jeans, said she was leaving. In other words was asking for her tip.
At this time I asked for the Manager. The Bartender came out said he was also the Manager.
All complaints as above were relayed to him. No apologies.
WOW!
This restaurant thinks they are way too special.

Read moreMy husband and I stopped in for a late lunch at Plaza Mexico the other day. We were the only diners. When you walk in you truly feel like you are in Mexico. The walls are brightly painted with Mexican figures. Music is playing and you expect to see a mariachi band appear. We were warmly greeted by Stephanie wearing traditionally embroidered dress. I ordered a drink that not only looked beautiful but was amazing long delicious served in a terra cotta cup with tajin on the rim. Sooo good. Stephanie brought out multicolored tortilla chips snd both green and red salsa. Very nice touch and also delicious. I ordered (shrimp marinated line juice). This was served with crispy tortillas and was great with just the right touch of lime and heat. I only wish the shrimp were whole and not falling apart. My husband ordered chicharrones which were also great. Crunchy and chewy at the same time. My birria tacos were also very tasty. If you want to take a local trip to Mexico go visit Plaza Mexico!! Their drink and food menus are extensive and you have a lot good stuff...

Visited Plaza Mexico on a Sunday evening around 7 PM. The vibe and atmosphere were great, and the concept of using iPads for menus was a nice touch—though most were low on battery or completely dead, which made ordering inconvenient.
Service was the biggest drawback. Our waitress was polite but seemed disengaged, and it took a long time just to get drinks, even though the place wasn’t busy. Two other staff were chatting at the bar while customers waited. Food came out in good time—portions were generous, prices were fair, and the flavor was solid. One maintenance issue: condensation from the A/C vent was dripping directly above our table.
If management focuses on staff training, quicker service, and improving small details like clean tables and working menus, this place could be the spot—especially on weekends when it turns into a club setting. Plaza Mexico has a lot of potential, and I’d hate to see it not thrive the...
