If youāre looking for a new home, BCs is the place! On the weekday nights Iāve meandered in here, Raina has always been super attentive and quick to get a drink in my hands, and is super personable, making me feel like one of the regulars. Sheās great at keeping up with everyoneās drinks when itās busy, and making everyone feel at home and attended to when itās slower. Thereās several nice pool tables, a popcorn machine, and a jukebox, but for me the real draw is the karaoke. Itās through KaraFun, which, while it has its problems, has a huge selection. Jack has been a great KJ and is very entertaining on the mic. The rotation on weekday nights is my primary reason Iāve been coming here, because I get to sing an absolute TON. Even on the busier Friday nights Iāve been in, Izzy has been very quick to get people up and singing, which is such a nice change of pace from all the places Iāve been that have you waiting hours between songs while they fill up the queue with new arrivals who havenāt spent as much as those of us who have been here since the start! Food is limited to aforementioned popcorn and frozen pizza, but damned if itās not insanely good frozen pizza! The atmosphere is friendly, especially for a bar that has its clear regulars. Fantastic establishment, and couldnāt be more pleased with my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRecently been stopping in at BCs after work for drinks as it's right on my way home.
Larger pool + karaoke bar - darker atmosphere w very casual pool hall style decor - maybe something approaching a dive but not quite although more uptight bougie types down from Bel-Mar might not care for the atmosphere.
Personally, I find it friendly enough. Eight maybe ten pool tables and a machine with fresh, free self-serve movie-theatre style popcorn. Three fully working pinball machines.
There's a regular karaoke rotation but I can't imagine wanting to sing in front of a crowd - much less after/while drinking - so I honestly have no idea the schedule. Many of regular patrons are eager singers however and the resulting scenes are actually quite entertaining, if not what you'd might consider of as outright good music. The house KJs, Izzy, Zach, and Jack are all extremely friendly + funny.
Business/crowd seems to vacillate between extremely busy and eire quiet.
Served a lovely rye whisky for all of $6.50 - probably would sell for $9 - 12 in most of the rest of Lakewood, probably $15ish in Bel-Mar. Other than that 32oz domestic pours for $6 which strikes me as quite reasonable.
Bartender Carson is super friendly and - while claiming to be 'new' - seems like the most professional + seasoned of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUse to go in there when Bob and Carol owned the bar and since the new management has come in it seems like they are pushing away the old customers... We have been in this bar a few times within the past year and every time we are ignored (took 2 games of pool, 45 minutes of pool playing, before a waitress greeted us). Another time a man who said he was the owner came up to us about 1:30am and asked us if that could be our last game because it was a slow night and they were trying to be out by 2:00am! Then the final straw we stopped in and ordered a drink at the bar went to a table and put quarters in racked the balls and the same bad attitude owner came up and asked if we could play only one game and give up the table because he and his friends were doing a tournament!! He was playing on the next table over to us and seen me setting up for a game of pool for 5 minutes before he even said anything. Sad to say but can't believe the values of this new...
