What a good experience. We are not from the area and have never been here. We browsed the Amish Store which is where Maid Rite is located.
The food was perfectly fine. The three stars for food was only because, as I’ve found with most Midwest food, was a bit on the bland side. But, it was good and new to us. We never knew what a loose meat sandwich was so we had to try that. Gently seasoned ground beef, pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard. We opted not to have mustard and ketchup. We also ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich. When it arrived, we were shocked! It was the biggest piece of meat on a bun that I have ever seen. Gently breaded and fried came on a nice warm bun. Of course we had to take a picture of it right away before we tasted it. It was surprisingly good, but not as seasoned as we thought it would be. So big that we had to cut away most of it and save it to go home with us. Franchise were good also ordered fried pickles, which were blend as well, but tasted good. The stand out of this place is an employee named Paula. We thought she was the manager because she was super helpful when we were ordering and super friendly when she came and deliver our food. Turns out today was her first day. If Maid Rite right hires people like Paula, Their success will continue. She was absolutely amazing and friendly helpful. Basically everything you would want in an employee when it comes to customer service. We would come back...
Read moreI was craving a Maid-Rite since they closed ours in Colorado! The food here did not disappoint! They have taken the original and now call them "Mega". I could not see a size difference from what I remember. They would have 5 stars except for the counter help. They did not review the items as they were ordered, so we had to go back to order fries for the kids.
I also found my favorite here, Gooseberry Pie!! It was delicious, though a little pricey at $14.95 apiece. The Strawberry Rhubarb Pie is also fantastic. (We took 1 of each home).
The Amish store attached is amazing. The tables were gorgeous! I wish we had room to take some furniture home with us.
There was plenty of seating available which is good because they said they have bus tours of 40 people come in at a time.
I will come back here as long as they keep the...
Read moreWe were hoping for a quintessential American diner experience, and I suppose we succeeded, as it was a mixed bag of good and mediocre. First of all, the counter service was great. The young man was extremely polite and good at his job. Our lunches came out fast, too, in about 10 minutes. My husband and son had chicken tenders and fries, with cheese on my son’s fries. They thought it was just okay. My grilled chicken wrap was mostly good, the chicken especially, but there was a black-mottled lettuce leaf and some of the chopped onion pieces were size of my thumbnail. I didn’t eat those. Most tragic of all, the cheese curd dish was very small for $6 and they weren’t quite hot enough, so they were dense with no pull or squeak. While the adjoining store and bakery looked interesting, we have zero interest in stopping at a...
