1st Visit | New Location - 26 Aug 2023

Yay! They're back + the Falafel is as delicious as ever! Grabbed a 1/2 dozen for takeout, which comes with hummus, banana peppers, shredded romaine + pita. šŸ˜‹

Looking forward to dining in + trying other dishes on their expanded new menu. 1st Visit | Former Location - 4 May 2019 I'm so excited to have a Middle Eastern restaurant in Southwest Lansing + am thrilled that is so delicious!

We ordered takeout for the first time tonight: Falafel Plate with Hummus + Salad (1/2 order), Chicken Shawarma Plate + a large Potato Manakish.

I've not tasted a Falafel this good since moving from NYC 16 years ago. It is, hands down, the best Falafel in this area. It is well-seasoned (most around here lack adequate salt to enhance the herbs) + fried wonderfully — a balanced ratio of textures, a light layer of crispiness on the outside with a moist pillowy inside! It didn't come with Tahini, so I'm eager to try their sauce next time.

The Potato Manakish is a yummy comfort snack + the toasted sesame seeds on top give it a perfect zing. Think knish meets samosa meets calzone! I could seriously eat these every day.

The Chicken Shawarma Plate is tasty! Though some might find it veers slightly from what they may expect from other local Middle Eastern spots — it's more lemony (which I appreciate) + is served over a fragrant long-grain rice.

The hummus is on point. The salad was crisp + finely shredded. Its dressing was sweeter than the vinegary or lemony dressings that M.E. salads are typically mixed with here.

We'll be...

Tried Siraj for the first time today after seeing folks rave about the falafel on r/Lansing and wow, the food is fantastic, staff is very friendly and the prices are excellent!

I totally agree with Lansing Reddit, the falafel are so tasty. I got the Mixed Falafel sandwich and the falafel and fresh bread were amazing! Veg and pickles were also fresh and crisp. My husband got the Siraj Sandwich which was also very good. The fresh and delicious sandwich bread is a standout.

We also noticed on the Siraj website menu that they offer a deal on 12 mini Manakish. These are small pita with various toppings (not listed on the printed menu at the restaurant, however it was available upon request). We asked for a variety of all the options they offer and again, WOW. So good! The pitas were soft, fresh and flavorful by themselves, but the amazing toppings such as Zaatar, Seasoned Ground Beef and Spinach & Cheese were fantastic. It's obvious that this bread is made daily and with care, and the toppings made each nibble so much fun!

Baklava is also fresh and so good.

TL;DR This place has great Middle East Street food, excellent baked goods and very friendly...

My wandering palate wept as if coming home. The Best Middle Eastern cuisine in the area, Okemos, East Lansing, and Lansing! Best in Flavor, Best Quality, Best in value! I have lived in multiple major cities of the Northern and Southern USA and traveled the US, Canada and Mexico. I have lived and travelled over seas in the areas where this cuisine originates. Lansing you have a little known gem of foodie bliss, authenticity and culinary joy, right here. The Falafel/ sandwiches, Chicken Shawarma, C Kabab, L Kabab, Hummas and Rice are all superb. I have yet to try the other menu items, noteably something you arent going to find anywhere else in town, the Middle Eastern flat bread "pizzas", as I am only just discovering Siraj Bakery myself. I am already planning my next Pandemic Essentials Run to include a drive by Siraj Bakery for some much needed tastebud relief. If you are in need of an escape into flavor paradise this Pandemic you have to...

This place was incredible! The freshly baked pita would be reason enough to go, but everything was amazing. I ordered the tomato and egg qalaya, which was savory and flavorful - the tomatoes tasted fresh and bright, cooked with onions and scrambled egg into a hearty dish. I ordered a half-dozen falafel, which were crispy on the outside and pillowy soft and wonderfully spiced on the inside. The hummus they came with was creamy and light. Those dishes alone would have been more than enough food, but I also wanted to try the zaatar and cheese pie. It was less than $5, so I made the mistake of assuming it would be a little pie. It literally came out with a pizza cutter - it was at least 8 inches across! The zaatar was so tangy and wonderful, and the bread it was on was chewy and crusty. I went home happy, with a huge bag of leftovers (and an order of baklava to go!). I will definitely be back - and I'm coming with friends, so we can order lots more!

Ordered a dozen pies and they were really good. Would definitely come again. They're a new business so there's definitely potential for improvements. Few comments to improve: 1) couldnt see signage from the road. Would attract more people if they could see a large "siraj bakery" sign. 2) this place is misspelled on google maps. Should be bakery not bekary. 3) if there was some sort of entertainment while waiting (like a tv), it would be more interesting. I suggest allowing customers to see you make the pies instead of hiding at the back. 4) boxes were bigger than needed for the dozen pies. You might save more money if you used smaller pizza box maybe. 5) if you have combo price (like 5 dozen = $45), i would definitely buy more for large events. 6) more sandwich menu items! Especially for lunch. Kudos on the new shop. Would definitely come back again! Good pies!
