Crazy Crab — Restaurant in Lansing

All right I'm not sure what happened because when I first started going to this place back in like 2019 it was amazing. The best hot and sour soup EVER, the food was always good. UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE COVID. I remember commenting to one of the staff members there how good their soup was and how it was my favorite soup out of all the places in Lansing, not even a week later they had changed the recipe and turned it into this orange fake tasting slop. It literally tasted like they had taken the sweet and sour packets and dumped them in a container toss in some old nasty veg, boiled it and called it good. I was flabbergasted. They then had the nerve to argue with me about how they had never changed their recipe. OK. Started going there for the crab. Not even kidding after the first I want to say maybe month of decent service without fail I would always always be missing a part of my order. Literally would order a whole snow crab but only get half of it??? And you know how they are about no refunds and want to argue with you 😡 last time I didn't even leave I just sat in my car right in front of their door to check only to find out it was messed up, they tried to tell me that's what I ordered...no, I had to literally show them the receipt and pull up the original order on the app to show them no I literally ordered a whole one..Where's the rest of it?? So after the third time I stopped going back. So for them to text me today to tell me about how they have delivery service prompted me to leave this review. I will literally drive a good 20 minutes out of my way right past this place to go to panda Express and I don't even like them. That's how I feel about this store, their food...

I have only ever ordered delivery from crazy crab through Grubhub. I really love the mongolian chicken mei fun. It tastes great, and it's a wonderful deal. Lots of food for the money. I started ordering from them in late may. Since then, I have placed five orders total. Of the last 3 they have canceled 2 of them, tonight included. Both times the restaurant was noted as open by grubhub and both times they were slow to cancel. This time they waited 25 minutes (delivery time eta was 35 to 50 min). AFTER they said they were making my food, AFTER the driver was there. Then they decided they were closed and not accepting any more orders and canceled mine. This is bs, they should not be accepting orders when they are closed. They should not be canceling orders that were placed while they were still open because they have decided they don't want to accept any more orders. If they need to cancel orders, they need to do it more swiftly. This is the second time they have screwed me out of food. Dining out isn't always a luxury. Sometimes people like me have health limitations and need to get food outside the home at times because we're unable to prepare our own. Add in allergies and there's even more obstacles. This is one of the few places I can get food from outside the home. Do better. I don't want to remove this from my acceptable foods location, but if this happens...

I had heard good things about this business so I ventured out to find it. It is in a mostly deserted and run down mini mall so the location was a bit foreboding. It was 22.00 for a half pound each of crab and shrimp and it came with a very small potato, a small piece of corn and a boiled egg. The food was tasty but I felt a little expensive for the amount, however, it was fresh and did have a good flavor. I sat down and no one came to wait on me so I asked and was told you had to order in the lobby. After ordering, you pay and tip immediately if using a card. They do bring the food out to you. There are no fountain drinks or refills. Only cans of pop and bottles of water. They have an extensive Chinese food menu too. Not sure I'd visit again. Not because of the food but when I pay a lot for a meal, and mine was lunch, I like to be waited on and checked on while I'm eating. No one came out once to inquire while I was eating.
