This is a delicious new place. The cheese croquettes were nicely crisped and soft and savory on the inside. The empanadas had the same crispy brown outside with the bubbly crust that means the exactly perfect water-flour-butter combination, and the fillings of chicken and chorizo were finely ground with a tasty spice blend. The Cuban sandwich was huge! Perfectly layered with the roasted pork, ham, pickles, mayo and mustard- great choice for the pickles- not too dilly or garlicky and still crunchy, not limp from the heat press on the bread. But oh, that roasted pork! I stole out a bit from my boyfriend’s sandwich and it melted in my mouth. I had the Cobb salad, which may sound like a boring idea, but it was spectacular. The “bacon” was bits of fried ham, the cucumbers were peeled AND scored (like grandma’s fancy cukes), tasty cherry tomatoes, and the chicken! Pounded thin, dredged in homemade bread crumbs and expertly fried. Expect to wait! This food is scratch made and fresh. Get a cortadito with a smile and check out the murals and tapestries. Like hormigas at a picnic, once you taste this food you’ll be back with friends.

Found this place on Google maps. At first, I wasn't sure this place was open, but I decided to meet a friend here for breakfast. If it looks like there's no customers, still stop. The food was delicious. The fresh, squeezed orange juice was the best I've ever had. The owners came to our table genuinely, wanting to know how the food was. We got a little history of their family, which was very nice. These owners really want to do what's best for their customers. My friend and I sat there for 4 hours visiting. Next time I'm in Lansing, from WV, I will eat here again! We highly recommend it here. Help spread the word this place is open.

This morning I tried a newly opened, family owned Cuban restaurant in Lansing called La Mulata. Very clean place with a chill atmosphere. My server, who was also the owner, was beyond nice, polite and friendly. She told me they were only open for couple weeks, so for now business is slow. For my drink, I ordered a Cortadito, which is an espresso with steamed milk. Then, I tried a Mulata Gordita, which is a Cuban style omelette with chorizo, diced ham, onions, tomatoes and cheese. Delicious food at reasonable prices! Support local businesses and try the new La Mulata, located at 5334 S Martin Luther King BLVD, Lansing, MI. đŸ”„đŸ‡šđŸ‡ș💃
