Smoky's Concession Stand — Restaurant in Lapel

Horrible service, mediocre food and poor cleanliness.

This was a great place when it opened. The service was amazing and the food was great. However, we went last week, there were a couple tables with people when we arrived but the other tables left soon after we ordered so we were the only table in the restaurant area. The bar seating was full. The waitress was very slow to come and didn’t come back often. The food took forever to come (at a time when we were the ONLY table). When appetizers arrived my nephews nachos were sad, clearly the bottom of the chip bag with a pile of broken chips and a couple messy blobs of sloppy joe meat. The rest of the meals we ok, nothing great, just mediocre at best. Nothing like opening week. The waitress asked if we wanted more drinks, I said yes, everyone else said no, somehow the others where brought and charged for more drinks. The worst here for me is that I was impressed that this whole time another waitress was busy sweeping and cleaning, then the most disgusting thing happened as she took the broom she was using on the floor and used it to brush food and crumbs from a table into a dustpan, she used the dirty broom on the tabletop!! 🤮🤮🤮 We looked for anyone that looked to be in charge so we could let them know what we just witnessed but there appeared to be no one there in charge. There were 3 people working behind the bar, none of which were wearing masks, no one paying attention to the restaurant area. My husband reached out directly to the restaurant to let them know before we gave any review and he got no response. We love coming to Smoky’s Concession Stand! Tonight we came as we do about once or twice a month. As usual, two of our kiddos shared a pepperoni pizza which was cooked to perfection tonight! They devoured the Medium sized pizza, leaving me only a couple of slices for lunch tomorrow. Our third kid loved her cheeseburger sliders! We ordered the kids food first and I was so tempted to just pick up my kids cheeseburger and take a big ole bite it looked and smelled so good! I too ordered a cheeseburger, the Smashburger. It was delicious!! I was disappointed when my kid was messing around in her chair and knocked the remaining two bites out of my hand! The manager, Jocelyn was nearby and offered to have another burger made for me when she noticed my sadness. I was pretty darn full after most of the burger and mountain of French fries so I declined, but was so grateful for her offer! My husband had the special as suggested by our fantastic server, Nate; it was a filet with asparagus, his favorite combo!! It was cooked to perfection and so tender! We always have a great experience at Smoky’s but tonight was the best we’ve ever experienced! Of course we’ll be back again soon!! We love it at Smoky’s...

We surprisingly ended up being here for their opening night after the soft openings. We were shocked! We see alot of potential! The location is VERY small. In the warmer months the size will double. When in the bar do NOT lean against the pipe separaters!!!

The food was great! I was afraid it would be smoky inside based on the name bit that was not the case at all. Everything smelled wonderful even for me who does not like the smoky smell. Unfortunately it became very, very loud after an extremely short time!! We wanted to leave because it was so loud. They need more POS systems because the wait staff were waiting for others to finish up before they could input more orders. The lone POS System was right behind me as were the servers waiting for their turn.

We, as a group, like the coleslaw but think it needs some sweetener. The salad was weird with the green beans and edamame included but great overall. I did have to change the cheese because of an allergy to bleu cheese. The wings were absolutely delicious!! The special was a catfish sandwich which was very flavorful and flaky.
