Empire Express — Restaurant in Laporte

By far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life there's no flavor even in different dishes with the same flavor and it's just salt there is no flavor at all I ordered chicken pepper steak and there was two pieces of steak in there very little pieces I completely spent over $15 and tip and I have not touched one bit of might order sesame chicken was no flavor at all my lo mein was supposed to be skinny noodles it's not I will never order here again because I'm not even going to try to get my money back because it sounds like she just hangs up on people all the time I definitely don't recommend anybody as a local guide I will make sure this gets out and that this restaurant is known for not only being rude but the horrible food unbelievably the worst Chinese food I've ever experienced not not a good day to be at the empire ever it's never good day do not go there ever if I didn't say that already I'm telling you again do not go there I do not know who make the food but they need to have some serious cooking lessons just on the basic cooking an onion very...

We were not impressed with this place at all. The place smelled not so good when we walked in. We ordered the Empire family dinner each. The soup was edible but not very flavorful. The pu pu plater was exactky that poo poo. The ribs looked like they had been sitting out for days. They have tempura shrimp in two kinds one was not edible. The cheese wontons were full of grease. Then came out the entrees....i took one bite and decided I couldn't eat it. I has sesame beef asked for it to be spicy,which it was not. My husband had general Sao chicken and it was watery, no flavor and neither of us took more than a few bites of our food and threw it out. They serve everything in styrophone and didn't even have ice for drinks. Drinks were cans or bottles. Not even a friendly place. They didn't say hi when we walked in or even ask for our order. Good: Tonkatsu Ramen was on point and good in portion. Eggs, broth, noodles and braised pork were flavorful. -Food did taste good. Like the onions and bell peppers had flavor instead of a watery crunch. -They got it here pretty quick.

Bad: beef lo mein had maybe 4 or 5 pieces of beef. I got the large. Noodles were very dry. -large steak pepper: I sure hope you like onions and peppers, cause there really isn't any steak. -For the cost, I was expecting to feed 3 and have left overs for 3. I feel like I got smalls for the price of large. Website advertised soup and fried rice with each dinner. Got one small thing of white rice. -Mixed the lo mein and steak dish. That made the noodles better. But combined it was maybe a little more than a large Qdoba bowl.

Overall: good tasting food, but don't expect much in quantity. Maybe just stick...
