Great cheeseburger- nice and thick with a slab of onion and fixins. If you enjoy top notch fried mushrooms then this is your mecca- these are huge quartered mushroom heads fried to perfection not sloppy wet little frozen buttons. The place is clean with no nasty stickiness everywhere. The young lady who was our waitress was probably the best i had seen in years- bright, social, on point and really seemed to want to be there without gabbing your head off about their whole life! Well done young lady! The place is next to the old highway but was NOT a disturbance even though we sat outside. They have live entertainment sometimes and a firepit outside too. The prices may seem a bit high (where dont they) but youre getting real food too at a nice little place that you feel like youre welcomed in. Tons of menu options and salads- well done! Great hidden gem in northern Indiana. The hitchin post burger is an absolute unit of a burger. Everything tastes fresh and the icecream melts in the sun as it should. The music do be kinda loud sometimes but they turn it down if it's too much. The staff are nice and it's all family run and it's got that classic vibe. There are musicians that come out sometimes and play sometime which is really cool. There is also a campfire spot in the middle of the out door seating area and I presume they have some nice fires going in the evenings. I give this place a 5/5 cause I had a great experience and left feeling VERY full. They don't have a massive selection of beers that I am aware of but they do have a bunch of the classics. Unique and all good!!! Great food, wonderful atmosphere and the staff was so very friendly! Between us we tried a burger, coney dog, chicken sandwich, fries, Mac salad, slaw and ice cream with caramel sauce. Totally enjoyed everything! The coney dog was amazing and the slaw was as good as my mom’s and I never say that! I loved the music and we were so very blessed by the conversation with the owner. We will definitely be stopping again the next time we pass...
