I want to start off by saying John Cutters has DELICIOUS meals typically. But tonight was a Different visit. We ordered Mac n cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. Mac and cheese was good, but the brussel sprouts were over cooked, over seasoned and not very good. For dinner we ordered 4 Steak and Lobster entrees, 1 house salad topped with salmon, one burger with fries, and one carne asada dinner plate. We all ordered dinner at the same time while ordering appetizers first, but ALL of the food came out at different times with the appetizers coming out last. On top of that the food was as described below.
The steaks were either OVER seasoned or barley seasoned at all. The lobsters were cold and rubbery.
The salad that came out first didn’t have a salmon on it, we requested that the salmon we ordered be brought out in a plate. The food runner simply came back to the table with the right salad said sorry I grabbed the wrong one, and took the old salad back to the kitchen.
The first hamburger that was cooked for me was burned, so of course they had to cook another burger which added more time to our lengthy wait. But to top it off the fries were partially frozen in the center.
The carne asada plate would’ve been a delicious decision. But when the plate finally got brought the to the table the refried beans were as hard as a rock, and not edible. The limes when i went to apply them to my tacos were so dry that no juice even came out.
Disappointed would be a huge understatement seeings we’ve had wonderful experiences here. But after paying we asked to speak to a manager, who in return comped the meals with issues, as well as giving us 2 desert cakes. I hope my next experience will be better than this one, but I can assure you this hasn’t ruined their name in my eyes. Usually great food and great service. We will be back! Thanks aging to the manager who helped us!
Chris I think was his name, was one of the best managers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Thank you Chris for the service you provided us! Look forward to coming back...
Read moreI called in an order for my kids & one meal was missing. It wasn't fun to have to drive back, but mistakes happen. When I got there, the manager had the server tell me that I'd still be charged. I wasn't happy having to come back but I paid without saying anything. I should have double-checked that order after picking it up for the 2nd time, but upon arriving home, it was wrong. I called to let them know, the girl was so nice & apologized but the manager was too busy to get on the phone. I emailed him directly & expressed my frustration but respectfully explained the situation while praising the staff but also my displeasure with his handling of the situation. I received a generic & short reply, which frustrated me. I replied, obviously my time wasn't valuable to him and that was disappointing. Spending a Friday night with my kids & wasting half of it in the car for a simple order of chicken fingers wasn't as frustrating as his response. The email I got back was even more disappointing. I was told that I berated him & his staff in my email & thst I obviously just didn't like how he managed, so I should not come back. Again, disappointing when all I really wanted was acknowledgment that my time was important & a sincere apology for it being wasted while my kid not getting his food. My review is not a reflection on the staff in anyway, they were great. I very rarely post negative reviews, if ever, but it just wasn't cool & I felt like my time with my family was not important enough to acknowledge with any more than a copy & paste "we'll try better next...
Read moreI really wish google & yelp would allow 1/2 stars, makes zero sense to me. I would rate John Cutters 3.5 ~ we were greeted promptly by the server.. ordered our drinks and had the surf and turf platter for $100.. it came with two salads, we had Caesar and the house (served with a vinaigrette) salad, the Caesar was really good and a hefty portion, but there was something very odd about the vinaigrette dressing, it had a strange aftertaste kind of fishy? so we didn't eat that.. it came with 2 sides loaded baked potato which was massive, but not a lot of bacon/cheese/sour cream in it for something that size, and Brussel sprouts which needed little more crisp on them but really good and a large portion. Then the platter.. it had these tuna chips (8 of them) mini crackers with crab meat and then a tuna slice, these were good.. shrimp, they were huge and cooked we loved those.. the 2 lobster tails.. THIS was the highlight.. for the price these were amazing, cooked perfectly and so soft.. I would go back just for that.. and it came with a steak of your choice.. my issue w/ this is we chose a filet MR.. and it was overcooked they slice it which is a huge no no with steak b/c it lets it cook more and it releases the natural juices, so the steak was kind of chewy seemed cheap, and wasn't that good. It took a little while to get more water, and get the servers attention.. there were 3 girls there working, I say girls b/c they were definitely young and were more into talking together than checking on their tables.. but all in all it was...
