Review for Stacks&Yolks @ 3200 N Jones, Las Vegas, NV 89108 on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 8:00am. First time visit. Only three customers when I was seated, but it quickly filled up t0 half the tables occupied by 8:20am. It has a large open room, very clean, with about 20 tables and small breakfast bar seating area, and also a drive-thru window. A sandwich board at the walk-in entrance advertised a special of three egg skillet with potatoes, tomatoes, spinach and ham. Thatās what I ordered plus coffee. The āspecialā lowered this review from five stars to four stars (actually three and half stars, rounded up). The best thing I liked about Stacks&Yolks was the laid back atmosphere of the customers, servers and cook. I will return just for that, and order one of their highly recommended dishes next time. Things flowed slow and easy, but not too slow, service was good but not rushed, and everything I needed besides my food was on the table: variety of sugar packets, salt and pepper, creamer, napkin, and silverware. [Lately, Iāve had to ask, sometimes more than once, for these basics to go with my meal and that lowers my star rating. Customers should not have to ask for any basics when beverages or food are brought to the table. How many of you end up sitting at the table with your food in front of you and no fork?] The cleanliness of the restaurant was five stars. The service was five stars. This dayās special was three stars (Yolks on me, because I should have ordered the āStacksā because thatās what they are known for). Never judge the rating of a restaurant by the occasional specials. Always order their specialties (like Stacks excellent signature pancakes and French toast with eggs) if you want to rate the restaurant overall. On to the daily special: I like my coffee strong, and this coffee was a little weak. But thatās just a preference. I also like my coffee not too hot (it was a perfect temperature for me, because it did not burn my tongue off and I didnāt have to wait for it to cool down before I could drink it). Thatās just a preference as well. The food arrived hot and ready to eat. The potato mix was cooked perfectly. Potatoes were soft and browned, spinach was fresh large leaves perfectly wilted, and also chopped tomatoes and a good amount of grilled ham, also chopped up. It was topped with hollandaise sauce, and then topped again with three eggs. I chose fried over medium on the eggs, however, I think scrambled would have been a better choice. The eggs were perfectly cooked. So, why three stars on this daily special? It was the hollandaise sauce. When I order a dish with hollandaise sauce, I want a good helping of sauce and I want the sauce to be flavored well. I did receive a good size dip of sauce but it was a very bland sauce. No taste of lemon, Dijon or cayenne (or whatever pepper spice that was chosen). It was just bland. I could have ordered the dish without sauce, and, sadly, it would have tasted the same. Recommendation: If you love Hollandaise Sauce, donāt order it here. Lastly, the price. I was eating alone, just one special and one coffee. The total price was $22, plus a $5 tip, so $27 total. That is way high for a three star special, or one personās three star breakfast. I found this breakfast to be over priced. However, maybe the Stacks&Yolks special-to-the-restaurant recipes are worth the price. I found their prices on Stacks, wraps, burgers and melts to be fair. But, I wonāt know if the food also meets up to the prices until next time. Over all rating today: Three and one half stars (rounded...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOK so letās get this review startedā¦. We went to Stacks & Yolks On Saturday, January 13 of 2034 for breakfast and we had a wait time of about two minutes, so not very long and we were greeted at the door just an average greeting. Nothing spectacular just average. The ambience in this particular restaurant seems very dated and homely. Once we were seated, we were given our menus and we ordered our drinks. I had a hot tea and my husband had decaffeinated coffee waitress. Maria was super kind and attentive. Letās get that stated so this Review is not going to be about Mariaās service because she was wonderful.!!! and I wanted to be known that Maria was tipped separately because she was amazingā¦
Once we put our order in, I ordered the western skillet and my husband only wanted a single pancake. The pancake came fairly quickly then I had to wait about 15 minutes for my skillet to come ā¦. When his pancake came, we noticed that the butter on his pancake, which it was a scoop of whipped butter., he spread it across the entire pancake, and the pancake was so cold that the thin layer of butter would not even meltā¦.
After we waited 15 minutes for the skillet to come the waitress who dropped off the skillet her name was Cece and I showed her that the pancake was cold and the butter would not melt. She told me well. There are two different sides to the kitchen so I responded, but thereās just one ticket order , she immediately got offended and demonstrated a nasty attitude. I definitely was not comfortable sending anything back because I was afraid of what they would do to the food.
Once my original waitress came to the table, I asked the name of the waitress that delivered my food and she saw me talking to Maria regarding the order. She proceeds to ye across the restaurant. My name is Cece or Cecilia. Clearly she has no etiquette. And when we finally went to the register to pay the check, the management wasnāt better. There was no apology. There was no making it right and for 2024. I will no longer be patronizing restaurants that treat me poorly. We work too hard for our money to spend it with these restaurants that mistreat their customers and I suggest you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA great break from the Las Vegas strip-mall eating experience with a diy, small business vibe and cool menu options. A must see. First let me speak to the owners then give you potential customers a foodie insight after that...read on!
We finally decided to go here and I am glad I did. The outside doesnt convey the message of whats inside...so thats both a good thing and a bad thing. I suggest a wildly creative front door to replace whats there. Something wooden, with a portal window...give a hint of whats inside...I did this on my own restaurant yrs back and it drew tons of new people.
For a long time, the restaurant didnt speak to us from the street, but had it conveyed some of that inside vibe of color and uniqueness, on the outside, we'd have tried it long ago. So, dont let the plain jane vegas sand desert exterior discourage you. Whats within take you away from the Vegas norm entirely, which was awesome.
The inside reminds me of the standalone restaurants you see in the eastern part of the country, all reinventing themselves out of some former space or corporate brand that built. This is the epitome of small business and creativity. Usually restaurants like this, have passionate people within them.
The food was fantastic and plentiful.m and thats the closer for this rare, rare 5 star across the board review of mine. Churro french toast, amazing skillets, a huge hot chocolate. The only thing that can kill something like this, is a lack of community recognition to try it, or customer service/quality.
In this case, everything was clean...we looked thoroughly. Everything is organized, very clean, well sorted. The presentation of food and execution was solid...very important. The playing of unique christmas music and the bursts of color inside make this a cozy place that just takes you away from whats outside the front door.
Dont waste your time thinking about it...go...support small...
