Well, it took 15 mins to get out drinks. I ordered a paloma. Instead I got a cosmopolitan. 10 mins later our food comes—I had ordered their $45 steak. Both of the dishes we ordered came with soup and salad. We didn’t get the soup/salad. Server comes to ask if we got our soup/salad, we tell her no. She proceeds to say the kitchen messed up. She goes to get our soup/salad. We drink our drinks and eat the food. We are all almost done, when a woman comes over to our table stating she is the owner. She apologizes for the soup/salad mix up in the kitchen; “the kitchen likes to get trashed at closing” so orders get mixed up. We tell her it’s ok but we want our check. But no, she insists on getting the salad and the soup “this is my restaurant and I would not want you two to have a bad experience” So, off she went into the kitchen….. We finish our drinks. The infamous salad and soup still missing. The server drops off the check. We want to pay and leave. The total was a $69.80, we put a $100 down. Server came to pick it up. Then we watched the server and the owner at the bar be oblivious to us. They chatted with the guests at the bar. The other servers/workers had sat down and were socializing with what I assume are regulars. Finally after 20 mins we got our change. We tipped 15% and left.
In conclusion, unless you know any of the owners or workers personally, expect a lackluster dinning experience. Please spend your hard earned money at a nice place—like...
Read moreThis will be a mixed review. Food: Very good. I had a Steak Dion, which was on special. Husband the chicken parm. We both had salads, and onion rings for an appetizer. Onion rings were too salty, but tasty. My steak was cooked to perfection and very good with a baked potato. Total cost of my entree was $66. My husband had the chicken parm, which was a very generous portion, and he really enjoyed. His cost: $21. Service: Not great. We arrived about 7 pm. We stood around for like five minutes without being acknowledged in anyway. We moved up to the bar, and the bartender? Host? Was obviously very drunk and had difficulty seating us and another couple who had arrived just before us. When we were seated, it took about 10 minutes of being ignored before we even got menus or water. But after that, service was fine, although it did take some time after we were finished to get the bill. At 8:45, the staff was busy closing up all around us, and not bringing us the bill. Atmosphere: Cozy and romantic, dim lights, books and stuff around you makes it feel like home.
Overall thoughts: Limited menu. I wish they had mashed potatoes instead of just baked potato. Service could be better. Food was good. Wish they had a better dessert menu instead of just ice cream drinks. $66 for the daily special is kind...
Read moreHorrible experience all around! Started by ordering one of their house cocktails with Woodford. Could tell it was not anything close to Woodford because it tasted like the cheapest nail polish remover whisky they had. When I asked about it I was told they were out of Woodford and instead of telling me they went ahead and used what they had instead. Yes, they still charged me full price for the drink. Had to ask the slack jawed mouth breather behind the bar 3 times for a menu. Finally seated after 30 minutes after observing they had open tables while waiting. Our server either hated her job, her life, or both. She also had the personality of a clam. Tried to order several different beers so I would at least know what I was getting this time and was told they were out of those until I settled for water. Ordered a salad with ranch, got french. The corn was inedible just covered in oil/grease. The baked potato was still raw. The steak was so burnt and char crusted it tasked like it was dropped in the embers of a campfire. The only decent thing was the rolls that came out of a bag. Over $100 for hot garbage. One of the worst meals of my life. I have zero idea how this place is in business and have no plans of...
