I don't know where to begin. My girlfriend introduced me to A1 Fish and Chicken and of course, being the foodie that I am, I was instantly skeptical. We parked outside the restaurant, and before even leaving the car, my nostrils were met with the succulent, inviting aroma of A1 Fish and Chicken. Mouth watering, I eagerly entered, greeted by the warm smiling faces of the Zayid family, the owners of the restaurant. They greeted me as if I was a regular customer, and not my first time there. I looked up and saw an expansive menu with a variety of items, stemming from gyro to chicken wings, to shrimp, shawarma bowls and much, much more. The way the aromas from the kitchen were titivating my taste buds, I simply wanted to try everything. Mr. Zayid saw my face and instantly ran to the back of the kitchen and came out with samples of beef kabob, falafel and falafel sandwiches, all for NO COST. The pleasant smells matched the taste and my mouth began watering even more.
I placed my order for the shawarma rice bowl and when it was plated in front of me, I realized that their prices were WAY TOO LOW for the amount of food I was given. I dove into my food, and I kid you not, that was the best dish since Wade's alley-oop assist to Lebron vs. the Bucks in 2010. Throughout the course of my meal, the Zayid family periodically came by to check on me and make sure everything was okay with the food, as well as bring me even more free samples to try such as their lemon pepper chicken wings and replenish the "secret sauce" an orange sauce that tastes so good I'd slap my momma for a taste of it.
Fast forward 5 days after my first A1 Fish and Chicken experience and I've been there 4 times since, that same quality food and hospitality from the Zayid family unwavering. Currently ring shopping at Zales and Jared for my girlfriend to bless her for introducing me to this...
Read moreNEVER AGAIN!! The place just opened in February. It's now November and they have significantly raised their prices and gotten rid of their Mediterranean menu! The tacky tape they used to write the price increase is beyond unproffsional and just ugly. I found them online. I wanted the daily special but the price had increased by $2 bucks from the menu pictures I saw in the reviews! I figured I'd get the $5.99 4 wings I had seen on the online menu and a chicken shawarma. The shawarma is no longer offered and my $5.99 wings turned into $8.87 TOTAL! The wings increased to $6.99 and they charged me a DOLLAR PLUS FEE for using my debit card. I HATE cheap businesses like that insert eye roll here. There are NO signs indicating a card fee. Had I seen it, I would have turned around and walked out. I was already weary of the location but decided to give it a try. I should have gone with my gut and stayed away. It was NOT worth the trip. I could have gotten 4 wings and fries cheaper than $8.87 at the joint around the corner from my house. NEVER RETURNING OR...
Read moreSpotted this place on Yelp between appointments so headed over. Turns out to be a restaurant in half a gas station. Knowing other gas station restaurants in South Florida have been reviewed well by Guy F and Triple D, we decided to give it a try. The owner's family seems to man the place and greeted us warmly as we entered and offered some samples of the lamb shawarma and falafel sandwiches which were delicious! I decided to order the lamb shawarma sandwich and my wife ordered the chicken shawarma bowl to go as we needed to get to our next appointment. Both our meals were outstanding! Next time we stop by we will stay and eat as there is plenty of seating both inside and out! It seems they opened only a couple months ago (tough feat during covid), but the Mediterranean fare was spot on! We will...
