Huddle House — Restaurant in Laurel

I just left from there. Management. I had a bad experience with you shop. I order my food to go. A simple loaded chilly. I ordered it with out the jalapeno. I sat there for NEARLY 15 MINUTES to get a simple bowl of chilly. But thats not all. Five people came in after me. One black lady who ordered out, a black couple who were seated and and two older white men for I'm 55 and can be considered a senior. Now why did one of the older white men get served before me who ordered a full plate a omelet with a side of meat and the whole 10 yards with a first down on the same play. I'm here waiting to see who else. I noticed other people were getting served then the black lady who ordered out came back to see if her food was ready and while they went to retrieve her order. I guess they figured my order was ready at that point. I got my chilly, staff not even apologetic for my inconvenience, mind you other restaurants were in walking distance and I guess that's the price I paid for laziness. I took my food back to my truck and what do you know? My food is cold and they cooked it with the Frick Fracking jalapenos in it. YOUR SERVICE IS LOUSY! Howbeit, as I observed the other people in this surroundings. I don't believe you all can rise to the occasion of true customer satisfaction. I keep accidentally deleting my comment due to accidentally clicking off mid comment. So this time I won't go into as much detail, but know that me still trying to get a comment through, is testament tho just how good a time I had. Basically, long story short, at other places when I ask for extras on my burgers I hardly get any more that a normal amount. Sometimes I can't even tell if they got my order right due to how little I see on the burger. Which made this experience a nice change of pace. After asking for extra onions, pickles, lettuce, and muchroom, instead of a normal portion like I expected. I was brought a massive bowls for each toppinging. Truly a great change of pace, the generous toppings made in a better burger than all the other restraunts I've been to in a long while. And I'm a truck driver on the road, so I'm ofter forces to eat burgers and all different restraunts across the states, due to limited places to park. Also, great service, and atmosphere was great due to the massive portion of toppings I got. It all depends on who your server is. Bring a jacket!

We go to huddle house at least once every couple of weeks. They have changed servers a few times over the past year. If you get a good waitress then it will be a great experience. The only complaint I ever have is that the temperature is usually set on 60 degrees. We actually bring hoodies to wear even during the summer because it is so cold in the restaurant lol. There were a couple of times we walked in and it was so cold we just walked back out. Other times we had one of our regular waitresses and got them to turn the air up. All the other customers were freezing as well and were thankful we said something.

The food is always REALLY GOOD. I know it's huddle house and it's next to a gas station but they really do have good food! I usually get the chopped steak dinner with loaded mashed potatoes and a side salad. The chicken fried steak is good and the steak tips are also one of my top picks.

My only other complain is that they started closing early but I know it is due to lack of staff and they cant...
