Went during pre-opening. Please note that everything and everyone was new at it all! We've been excited to experience this restaurant since we learned of its opening last winter and we're delighted to be invited to join a pre opening night and get to try it all!
(Forgive me as the menu isn't online yet and I don't speak Italian!) We had the bruschetta trio - absolutely loved the house made bread, goat cheese spread and my favorite was the olive tapenade!! The tomato version was also delicious but not as punchy as the olives! For dinner we had the Andoule sausage pasta (has a better name that ive forgotten), which had a delightful smoky flavor, and the mushroom pasta (it has a much more complicated name that I will surely mess up!) With grilled chicken and a house salad. The house salad has a light but slightly sweet Italian dressing that mixes perfectly with the artichokes and olives! The mushroom pasta was absolutely fantastic and I will probably order it EVERY time I come here!
Topped everything off with the soon to be famous Tiramisu, which was "chef's kiss" amazing! Start with it as your appetizer... soooo good!! Can't wait to make this a regular visit (summer body...
Read moreMy husband and I have dined at Trails End several times and were never disappointed. On May 18th we tried Trattoria and while the food was excellent, the service was definitely lacking. Heather was our server and she was very friendly and knowledgeable, but she bacame quite slow toward the end of our meal to the point of ignoring us. We expected to be there for the two hours that the 5:45pm reservation required, but we finished our meal at 7:20 and then ordered two deserts to go. We waited and waited and waited and finally went to the front desk at 8:00 and asked for our desserts and then they were promptly given to us by the hostess with a “sorry the kitchen is very busy tonight” comment. I get that it’s a new restaurant and some tweaking needs to occur, but to make someone wait 40 mins for desserts, which I’m sure, were already prepared, is ridiculous. I’m sorry to leave this negative comment, but I would expect more from a restaurant where our meal was ~$200. For two people. We were hopeful this would be another favorite at the lake, but the service was subpar.

Read moreTo start off, the food was really good. They custom make their pastas and it was definitely worth it. The meat was cooked very well. Between both of his restaurants, the chef has never let us down. It was a bit pricey for the experience, however. Bread for the table was 8 dollars and it wasn't anything too special.
The problem was really the service. After sitting down, it took the waiter ten minutes before getting to us. After we ordered, we waited two hours until we got our food. This is unacceptable. Seeing some of the tables around us, we were not alone. The worst part was that they kept blaming it on large parties. This should not be a problem to us. If they couldn't handle the demand of a large crowd, then they shouldn't allow them to make a reservation. They clearly needed more staff to handle all the people in the restaurant. The waiter's mistakes all seemed to be our problems and nothing was really offered for how long we had to wait. Along with this place being a far ways outside of the busy part of the lake, it was just too slow to make it a...
