Amazing food at a great price. They have several kinds of rice and beans, and kidney beans (habichuelas), usually poured over white rice. They have whole rotisserie chickens that are marinated with lime. They have fried pork with lime, plantains, and tons of other food. It's Latin-American food, Dominican style. 😋
This is a cafeteria type of restaurant, and they mostly do carryout. (I can understand why some reviewers might consider staff rude, but I don't perceive it that way.) It's often really busy and really, really! noisy, so pointing at the food you want and nodding at the sizes they show you is a practiced style of communication.
If you see something, and you have no idea what it is, it's worth trying - almost everything is good and inexpensive. (The fried, starchy stuff might be a little dry and the food is not always fresh off the grill, but it's still excellent.) This is not the kind of food you get if you're on a heart-healthy diet. 😉
Parking: It's a busy road, but there's often available parallel parking along...
Read moreThe food is great. However it is not worth the treatment and service. If you are Spanish but do not speak full Spanish or are clearly not Dominican (black, white, etc) they treat you as if you are a burden and an outsider. The servers have attitudes the whole time. I witnessed it with us and other customers. And we always tipped. They provide terrible service and act as if you shouldn’t come into their business if you are not Spanish. My issue is this is America. The language primarily spoken is English. If you have a business in America you should speak English as well. So there is no right for them to treat customers that come this way. It happened with us and I watched it happen to an older couple in front of us. We decided not to come back again because why spend our money with a business that clearly does not like all Americans. We...
Read moreThis is a family owned Dominican restaurant that serves a variety of typical homestyle dishes.
We ordered the sancocho and rabo guisado (Oxtails), with white rice and plantains. The sancocho was pretty good. It had a lot of meat and vegetables, the white rice was perfectly cooked. I thought the sancocho had a bit too much garlic in the seasoning, but it was still great, especially since it was rainy and a bit chilly. The Oxtails were simply amazing! They were extremely tender and practically falling off the bone. The sauce was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the white rice. I've never had Oxtails this good at a restaurant.
The service was very friendly and attentive, the food came pretty quickly. Prices were very reasonable. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely return and order...
