This is my second time eating here.
I’m Guyanese and Jamaican for authenticity. The food is good. Hence, reason why I’m eating here again.
Service is good UNTIL you have a problem.
Simply put: I ordered three beef patties, two spicy, one mild. Because, THEY DID NOT LABEL THE PATTIES. I had to put my fork in each of them to taste them to see, which was which. I ended up with one chicken patty.
The breakdown: My husband called them to let them know. The woman at the front pretty much told us that we should be fine because the chicken patty cost more. But we did not want a chicken patty. Hence, the reason why we ordered beef patties. So she told us to bring the patty back up there so they can verify before giving us a beef patty. This woman clearly cannot handle any customer service disputes, because the way she over talked my husband was unprofessional and unkind. My husband stayed respectful the whole time. This woman got so upset in the middle of my husband, talking to her and trying to explain what was going on that she just gave the phone to who I’m assuming is the manager named Simone. Now, my husband has to drive back up to this place to go exchange the patty that they didn’t label. And I doubt that they even reimbursed him for the inconvenience. Like who does that as a restaurant owner? Your staff made the mistake causing inconvenience to the customer and then you don’t try to reimburse them or even try to make the inconvenience right??? all you do is say - “well here is what you paid for”. No- what are you going to do to make this right so that I feel comfortable even coming back to you as a returning customer. I just can’t understand why restaurants act so cheaply. come on, It’s a PATTY. It’s not like I’m asking you to replace a full oxtail meal. And even if I was, if it was wrong on y’all behalf, y’all should go over and beyond to...
Read moreHands down the WORST Jamaican food I've ever tried! I am NOT trying to insult anyone because this is their business, I simply need to share MY OWN EXPERIENCE. We called in a phone order, had to give out our debt card number in order to secure the order. Since this was my first time eating here I opted for the lunch special because I did not want to waste money in case it was not good. The lunch is only chicken(fried, jerk, brown stew) which comes with rice, cabbage and plantains. I chose the fried chicken and it was horrible TO ME. The only part seasoned was the breading it was fried in, which was tough and chewy. In all of my years of eating plantains I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVER had hard, dry plantains, zero moisture, they were dried out, not fresh at all...The cabbage were cooked with too much "bite" FOR ME, almost like raw cabbage in coleslaw and no I do not prefer my cabbage soggy, just cooked a bit more. The rice and peas were standard, nothing to talk about. To top it off I asked for gravy over my rice and peas, IT IS AN ADDITIONAL 75 CENTS! Thankfully they did not collect the money when I went in, I just wanted to make you guys aware. My family is from Spanish Town Jamaica and this was a poor representation of our food. If I don't cook it at home, my two favorite Jamaican restaurants are OVATIONS ON RIVERSIDE PARKWAY IN THE KROGER SHOPPING CENTER(OLD SONIC RESTAURANT) AND JAY'S CARIBBEAN ON HURRICANE SHOALS RD, BOTH IN GWINNETT COUNTY. They are consistent, the food is top shelf and the customer service is outstanding! I will never waste my money again at this "Jamaican" restaurant! Also, the lunch special is small, more like...
Read moreWarning to New Customers: Dishonest Pricing Practices
I want to caution anyone considering this restaurant. They do not honor the prices listed on their own menu, and appear to engage in deceptive practices.
Before visiting, I called to confirm the lunch special pricing — specifically the jerk chicken special listed at $8.99. Just 15 minutes later, I arrived to place my order, only to be charged a higher price at checkout. Despite pointing out that the menu clearly showed $8.99 and that I had just confirmed by phone, the cashier proceeded with the transaction and simply said, "I don't know what to tell you."
To make matters worse, payment is required before you receive your food, so you're essentially locked in before noticing any price discrepancies. Once I saw them change the menu pricing, I requested a refund — which I received — but the experience left me with serious concerns about the integrity of this business.
This is a new establishment, and rather than building a reputation for honesty and good service, they are risking customer trust by engaging in bait-and-switch tactics, which are not only unethical, but also potentially illegal. I will not be returning, and I urge others to double-check everything if you choose...
