Reserved back in September for Christmas Dinner; spoke with Kimberley who said that it was a traditional Xmas dinner I informed her that I had a vegetarian in our party, she said she will let the chef know. Xmas dinner was $49.00 per person (which I had no problem paying for traditional xmas dinner). We were offered 2 seatings 4:45pm or 8:10pm. We selected the earlier. When we got there it was empty and it was buffet style (I specifically asked if it was a served dinner and was told Yes!). Well for $49,00 we would have had a better meal at Olive Garden. The meal was horrible, in every sense. Not one bit traditional. Chicken was dry and tough, veggies sitting there all day desert just cookie, tart and choc cake. This was the worst meal we had eaten, When I went to get my meal one of the servers made a comment in "another language" but it did not take a genius to figure out what he was saying. We later spoke with another couple in Leavenworth who said they went to Kingfisher in the summer and it was a horrible experience. I would skip this place all together for food. Very disappointing, and I hated being lied to about what they were offering, especially an important meal like...
Read moreWe went for brunch on New Year's day and it was disappointing. Not sure if it was the result of poor planning or a staffing issue. They had a continental breakfast which was nothing like the breakfast buffet we went to at this restaurant on New Year's Day a few years ago.
There was oatmeal, really dry scrambled eggs, plain croissants, sliced ham, brie and some strawberries, prepackaged cereal, and juice. No bacon or sausage, no toast, no assortment of pastries or muffins, no pancakes/french toast/waffle, no potato option or biscuits and gravy.. These are things that cheap hotels often have as part of their breakfast options, so it was really strange that what used to be a high-end restaurant would have such a disappointing spread, especially for the price.
It appeared there was only one waitress working. She was very nice and restocked what was there, so nothing was running out. This seems like an issue that must stem from poor management.
Hoping they get it together, because it's a beautiful location and the personal interactions with staff have...
Read moreFor the price, I was expecting way better from the prime rib.. But it was under salted. I did appreciate how you can request it to a certain temperature, but again.. disappointed on having to add salt to a $64 steak. I digress. The horseradish they made with it though is ridiculously good, WOW!
The scallops were devine. Cooked to perfection.
The baked potato was ok. It had everything needed to complete it….however it came with bacon bits from a bag and a dry not seasoned potato skin. That’s disappointing and attention to detail with restaurants this expensive is everything. Even at home I oil and season the potato before I bake it. It made it unappealing towards the end.
I’ll be back to the sleeping lady but I’ll skip Kingfisher unless their prices start matching the quality of their food.
Service was nice, our waiter...
