The 12th Brick Grille — Restaurant in Leavenworth

Awesome location in the old prison. I wish they advertised it more because we had no idea it was there until today.

It is more of a sandwich shop as opposed to a grill. They serve salads, soups, and paninis. We ordered the Yard Bird panini and the Turnkey panini. Both sandwiches were pretty good. Each sandwich comes with a bag of chips which is nice. With two drinks our meal came to a little over $18.

This place has great sandwiches and I went here to have lunch every time I visited Fort Leavenworth. My absolute favorite is the Yard Bird sandwich I had it every time. The tomato soup is also very good. This place serves quality sandwiches and soups in a restaurant with character and atmosphere. This is due to how it’s located in the historic United States Detention Barracks building along with the huge old prison. It’s a really cool great restaurant with great food definitely recommend. Put it this way: if you're hungry and short on time, you'll eat it. If not, and have time to sit for your meal, you may dislike it. It's all on personal preference but I recommend taking the 5m drive over to the Food Court or Frontier Center for lunch. There's nothing appealing or tasty about this place.
