I am pretty disappointed at myself from ordering here. Mainly, because I saw the reviews and I am thinking "okay, this is a great spot to eat" and since I was traveling from Wisconsin back to NYC, I'm going to go ahead and try it.
The steak was straight up tougher than a shoe. It was covered in a tomato based sauce, which gave it flavor, but the cut of steak was not appropriate for the dish. Why would you use a cut of chuck, instead of a more fatty cut of beef. It was cooked beyond well done, which is understandable as it is Nicaraguan food, but damn at least tenderize it.
The Arroz con Habechuelas (rice and beans) were hard and flavorless. I expected to have nice, warm, fluffy rice- but that was not the case. It actually tasted like it was cooked the evening before and left out.
I ordered Queso Fritas and never got it.
