From the moment we stepped into Cedarwood Restaurant in Lebanon, KY, it was clear we were in for a treat. Known for its great country cooking, Cedarwood didnât disappoint, presenting a menu brimming with a wide variety of dishes and specials that felt both comforting and gourmet. Among the many options, the inclusion of dishes like goulash caught our eye for their unique take on classic country recipes.
Our table was graced with a chicken fried steak, generously covered in a delectable white pepper gravy that perfectly balanced the crispy exterior with a rich, creamy finish. The roast beef dish, smothered in a savory brown gravy, was equally delicious, showcasing the kitchen's ability to elevate traditional comfort food to something truly special.
For the younger diner at our table, the biscuits, patty sausage, and scrambled eggs were an undeniable hit. The simplicity of the dish, paired with its execution, proved that Cedarwood knows exactly how to cater to all ages with its menu.
However, the undisputed highlight of our meal was the cinnamon roll. This wasnât just any cinnamon roll; it tasted as if it was freshly baked, with a sweetness and cinnamon flavor that were perfectly balanced. The ooey-gooey texture made each bite a delightful experience, easily making it one of the best restaurant cinnamon rolls Iâve ever had the pleasure of tasting.
Adding to the exceptional food was the fast and friendly service, making our dining experience at Cedarwood Restaurant not just a meal, but a memorable event. Itâs safe to say that this establishment is one of the best restaurants in Lebanon, KY, and has set a high bar for country cooking. When I find myself back in the area, dining here again will be at the...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in for breakfast while traveling through the area. It was a seat yourself place so we sat at the counter. The waitress was nice but clearly new. There was another waitress there who also seemed nice. Finally one more person who appeared to be the manager or owner. My husband ordered The Cedarwood and I ordered a breakfast sandwich. I ordered eggs, bacon and cheese on toast. I asked what kind of cheese they had and I was told American, pepper jack or Swiss. I asked for Swiss. When my order came out I didnât see any cheese on it. Our food was brought out by the other waitress, not the one who took our order. I told her there was suppose to be cheese on it, she asked what kind, and I told her Swiss. She went to the back and brought me out two slices of American. I again told her it was suppose to be Swiss. I took a bit of it and told her it was definitely not Swiss. She insisted it was and told me thatâs what they use for Swiss. At that point I gave up and just ate my sandwich as it was. After 2 bites I realized there was cheese on it. A very small amount and it wasâŚ. American. My husbands food was just âehâ. The ham was very salty. Other than that it wasnât terrible and wasnât anything to rave about. All in all, the food was edible but I will definitely not...
Read moreJust a simple, mom-and-pop restaurant. The menu had a good selection but was extensive. We started with cheesy fries. They were just OK. I thought the menu said they were covered with chili and cheese, but they only had cheese and bacon pieces. I'm pretty sure they cooked the fries put them in the little basket, sprinkled the cheese and bacon, and then nuked it all. The fries had that microwaved fry taste (just slightly). I had the pork tenderloin for my entree with mashed potatoes (with brown gravy) and green beans for sides. The pork was good but not great. It was thinly sliced and on the verge of being dry. Luckily, there was enough "juice" in the plate to keep it from being too dry. The potatoes and beans were both really good. It also came with either Texas toast or cornbread (the flat style...we call 'em hoecakes). I opted for the hoecakes, and they were really good. The service was friendly and the prices were decent. It is worth a return visit. (Sorry about the pictures. I didn't think about taking them until we were...
