Mamas Italian Grill — Restaurant in Lehigh Township

My husband and I love mamas pizza restaurant the one close to our home here in Walnutport Pennsylvania. We order several times a month from this family owned business. We are new in the area been living in here for one year now. Mama‘s restaurant was the first pizzeria we visited in town we have not stopped visiting since everyone is so pleasant, and so welcoming when we walk in it’s always nice to chat with the guys and say hello to everyone while getting there to pick up our food. We have catered from them on an annual bases; last year, this year and again soon… never disappointed! The best! Oh, I should mention, their rice balls are outstanding and please be advised you must order with enough time in anticipation they are the best rice balls in town, I order them in batches of 20! We have ordered from them several times before and the food was decent. They close at 8pm today, and I tried calling just before 7:30 to place an order. No one answered. I tried about seven or eight times over the next 10 minutes and someone finally answered at 7:36. When I stated I wanted to place an order, he told me the kitchen was closed because it was 7:40 and the kitchen closed at 7:30 (let's just say he was rounding up in time because it was 7:37 when I got off the phone). I told him I had been trying to get a hold of them for 10 minutes and had started calling BEFORE 7:30 and he said they were busy so they were closing early (why would you close early if you are having a good night?). They wouldn't let me order. Extremely poor customer service between not answering the phone and being rude and unapologetic when I finally got a hold of them. If they are going to close at 7:30 they need to state that in their hours, not say they close at 8pm and not answer the phone or take orders starting...

Stopped for gas next door to this place, never had their slice so, here we go. Nice place. Customer service was very good as they had quite a few people working at 1130 am on a Friday,think I counted 7 total. Place is tiny but decorated very well and extremely clean. Slice was a little thick for NY style but too thin to be thick crust. So somewhere in the middle. Overall that's where this slice landed, somewhere in the middle. The crust was good,but not too crispy and didnt really have anyth6that stood out about it. Same with the sauce. Average. Cheese and the herbs on the top were the best part of the slice.
