My girlfriend and I came here for lunch because of the proximity to Beltzville lake (we were fishing there) and also this place was the only place around us that did dine in at the time. The restaurant was easy to find and it's just a small place in a small town (the town isn't that great). We loved this authentic Italian place and we will most definitely come back when we are in the area!
We decided to sit outside and the decor out there was pretty cool. Our waitress came up to help up almost instantly. We ordered the Orecchiette Alla Barese, the Gnocchi Alla Romana, and a pizza to eat later on the lake. Both pasta dishes were fantastic. Also, the bread out waitress brought out was amazing! I love it when restaurants have bread and this bread was so soft. Also, the olive oil had an assortment of spices and it tasted great! I love it when a restaurant uses spices in their olive oil because it adds a whole new layer of taste.
Orecchiette Alla Barese: This is what I ordered and it was delicious. I loved the broccoli rabe! It added such a perfect flavor to the dish. And also, the "noodles" were unique and also very good. Although I wish it would've been specified the noodle type, now I know. Also, the meal did have a strong cheese.
Gnocchi Alla Roman: This is what my girlfriend got. The marinara sauce was super nice. The perfect mixture between sweet and savory. The gnocchi was super soft and super delicious. This was the first time I'd ever tasted gnocchi, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was great.
The pizza: The pizza was also very good. The cheese falls off easy though. But the taste is great. I also really enjoyed the crust; it tasted different compared to other places.
Overall, this Italian restaurant was a perfect stop for a meal. I'd like to come back here. The dishes were very good. And the prices were also pretty fair. To be honest, they could've doubled the prices and I still would've been fine with them. So if you're in the area, you should try this...
Read moreAs a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I've had my fair share of delivery experiences. However, my recent order from Lorenzo Pizza Kitchen made me question everything I thought I knew about pizza. This grease-laden monstrosity was a disgrace to the very concept of home-delivered comfort food.
The online ordering process was simple enough, and I eagerly awaited my meal, excited to enjoy the familiar flavors of mozzarella, tomato, and basil. But when the delivery driver arrived and handed me the box, I could already sense that something was amiss. The cardboard was soggy and oil-stained, an ominous sign of the disaster lurking within.
Opening the pizza box, I was greeted by a sight that can only be described as catastrophic. An ocean of grease had engulfed the pizza, submerging the once proud crust beneath its oily waves. The toppings seemed to be swimming for their lives, desperately trying to escape the flood of liquid fat.
Hesitantly, I attempted to lift a slice from the box, only to find my hand covered in a slick, slimy layer of grease. The pizza was so sodden with oil that it could barely hold its own shape, the crust collapsing like a saturated sponge.
The taste was equally appalling. The overwhelming flavor of rancid oil assaulted my taste buds, drowning out any hint of the traditional pizza flavors I had been craving. It was a culinary travesty that left me regretting my decision to order from Lorenzo Pizza Kitchen
Needless to say, I couldn't stomach more than a bite or two of this greasy disaster. It was a sad day for pizza lovers, and a scarring experience that will haunt my future delivery orders. Save yourself the heartache and disappointment—steer clear of this pizzeria's...
Read moreWhat a gem. If you’re in the Lehighton or Jim Thorpe area and looking for a place to enjoy a glass of wine, excellent food, and exceptional service, Lorenzo’s is the spot.
We sat in the back room which was cozy but if the weather cooperates, try to sit out back. They’ve created a great place for al fresco dining as well as a bar. There’s also a small herb garden back there growing fresh basil, mint, and other herbs.
The prices were very reasonable and the quality of the food was excellent. We enjoyed a Caprese salad, orecchiette al la Barese (so good!), and a gnocchi in bolognese. The bread served with the meal came with olive oil and fresh basil. It’s made from their pizza dough which gives it a light crumb, a crisp crust, and a hint of semolina. Delicious. I want to go back now just to try the pizza.
Service was outstanding and my wife and I appreciated the attention during our meal as well as the personal conversation afterwards.
We’re traveling around to various towns in the area for a week. I’m not sure we’ll have an opportunity to come back here but if we’re ever in the area again, I will absolutely stop by for a relaxing and delicious meal...
