Stopped into this place with my husband as they just opened. As of right now, we give them a 3/5 for being very middle of the road. We see the potential, but they are NOT there yet and we want to provide some hopefully helpful feedback to see them grow!
We ordered 2 cheesestakes with peppers and onions (add. charge) and got 2 bags of chips. The total with a credit card wound up being $36.61. There's definitely a huge gap between how the cash register allows food choices in and what the kitchen actually makes. For some reason instead of getting 2 cheesestakes with peppers and onions, one had only peppers and the other had both peppers and onions. The communication there needs to be addressed to ensure the correct order is made. Additionally, for how much we paid, there was barely any cheese and the roll was huge compared to what little meat was on there. The flavor itself was good, but for the price, the ratio and accuracy should be adjusted.
Secondly, there are no tables to sit and eat at. There's a table that specifically says not for eating… Weird. Maybe they don't have the right permit for that yet, but if that's the case say so. Or maybe they plan to have no seating to eat at all, who knows.
Thirdly, I love the concept of the shop being a mini Mart to grab items like eggs, milk, etc. It's a little odd though that they have 3 different pastas and no sauce. Cake icing, but brownie batter instead of cake mix. Salsa, but chips and pretzels instead of tortilla chips. That might just be a personal gripe though.
The items they sell on the shelve I'd say are fair for what they are. We plan to go back a few more times over the next few months and see how it goes. I do hope they improve and get into the swing of things though as this is perfect for its location!
And for the person's review that talks about backpacks, that's not uncommon. Truly get over it. I'm sure their intention isn't to demonize children. I too have lived here over 20 years. They are upfront and establishing their own expectations as a business.
We wish you guys well and do hope the deli itself improves and takes suggestions and feedback into...
Read moreI pulled up to the front door and did not bother to even go in. Right off the bat they have a sign up that says, "absolutely no backpacks allowed" and another one that says "no public restroom". They just opened up and are already deeming our school children as criminals. The no restroom does not give off family oriented community Deli like the previous one did. The previous Deli was welcoming and did not give off mistrust vibes. I found the signs offensive and reminiscent of something from urban city neighborhoods. I will not patronize this establishment and this is not going to go over well in our community. I've lived here for...
