I used to come here all the time for lunch. I work in town, and really love the owner, Ari. He is a great dude and really gives back to the community and elementary school in town.
I got turned on to the Black and Bleu salad, which has blue cheese and steak on it. Good for my diet. I could eat this salad every day. In fact, I had started to.
Lately, the steak on the salad has had a lot of fat. A. Lot.
Fat was something I'd like to avoid, hence the salad order, so I specifically asked for the salad with the fat trimmed off the steak, since lately it has had so much. The lady at the register looked at me like I was crazy and said, "We just cut the steak into strips. The fat is part of it." I then asked, "Can you trim the fat before you cut it up?" Frustrated, she let out a huff, and then asked me for my drink order.
The experience was not pleasant. So I stopped going to Alex's for a while. For me, lunch is a chance to escape the pressure of the office; not find anxiety over my order.
A friend invited me to lunch last week at Alex's. Reluctantly, I agreed. I really wanted to give this place another chance. I didn't ask for it without the fat, because I don't want the hassle of a picky request. Unfortunately, fatty salad again.
Today, my wife mentioned Alex's for lunch, and I agreed, as long as she ordered my salad without the fat. The photos speak for themselves.
I don't get it. Are there other people out there who want this salad with the fat? Am I the oddball because I want to order a healthy salad that is fairly, healthy?
I hate it. I love the atmosphere and the owner, but I can't do Alex's for lunch any more.
Sorry Ari. (Feel free to contact me offline for more detail Ari. I looked for your contact info but could not find it. I really do want your business to be successful, and I do believe in...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be good and I have been bringing my daughters and family for years. However, about a month ago I took my mom who was visiting from Florida to the restaurant because she enjoyed it the last time. When we ordered my mom originally asked for a soup but quickly told the cashier that she would take fries instead. However, when the food was delivered they gave both the soup and thr fries. I politely mentioned it to the waitress and she said "don't worry about it you can have it since it was a mistake". I ended up giving it to my young daughter who was sitting with us. The next thing we knew the female Greek manager came over to my elderly mother and demanded she give her $5 for the soup and said very rudely "we don't give free food!". We tried to explain what happened to her and she would not listen and treated us as if it was our fault. I gwve her the bowl of soup and told her we didn't want it. She made use feel like criminals! It was very upsetting and our waitress even felt bad about it and I told her to tell the manager that she just lost a long time customer due to her rude and disrespectful treatment of my family. Totally unnecessary and unexceptable. We...
Read moreSomething has happened to Alex’s. It’s been there awhile. When it opened it was delicious! The wait staff was running with plates to get them to your table. Smiles were all around the staff. Now customer service is not good at all! While placing my order the girl was paying more attention to the other girl and got our order all wrong. Luckily I asked her to repeat the repeat the order and it was totally wrong. Our number was called, had to go retrieve our plates. Once again No Smiles from staff and No Greetings. Got the drinks for myself and my mother sat down to eat. Bam 💥! Horrible! I got a grilled chicken sandwich plain Nothing on it! It had Mayo, yuk! My mother’s chicken soup had celery in it onion in it and something we could not identify, tried to get a waitress or management to our table because wait line was long. By the time waitress came needless to say the food was cold, we had lost our appetites and wanted our money back for the food we ordered. Management took off for food only. The whole Restaurant needs training about customer service and how to deal...
