It is not often that I am forced to give the one-star review. It is not something I enjoy doing. I hope this review gives the feedback for the powers at be to make necessary adjustments for both the sake of the staff and also for customers. I am afraid with this Hot Head Burritos establishment, there are no flukes or stars aligning to blame for the experiences.
I am very generous with chances for redemption. I have dined at or picked up food from this location four different occasions. The first time, service was extremely slow. We waited in line for approximately 30 minutes with not many customers in line to begin with. Several behind us left seeing that things were not moving quickly. This was shortly after the location opened, so I had hoped this was simply the result of a training ramp-up for new staff.
The second time was a mobile order placed while my parents were in town. My wife orders a steak bowl, and no steak was in the bowl. This was a puzzling one. I'd guess the majority of people order some form of meat in their burrito or bowl, so to skip that scoop would surely have had to let alarm bells go off to double check, especially if you're triple checking a receipt that directly tells you what to put in the burrito.
The third time was another pick-up. They added tomatoes to my sister-in-law's burrito without it being in the order. The fourth time was another pick-up from the store. They forgot steak in my wife's bowl again. At this point I threw up my hands and decided to come here to raise the red flag.
Owners, operators, anyone - something is not right at the store. I don't know if it is a training issue or level of effort, but I think there are enough patterns in these reviews thus far to raise the question: what can...
Read moreAwful experience for my first time ever having Hot Head Burritos.
This location has a drive-through, but no one ever answered, so I went inside, which was a nice atmosphere, clean, but no one was inside eating, which made me wonder.... There was one employee. Although very kind, it was slow and didn't seem to know how to follow how to make an order as I had to correct them before putting the wrong sauce on a burrito. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla, and the cheese wasn't even cooked all the way through. Picture for reference
When I checked out to pay, they didn't even hand me my order in the bag... the manager just walked away, and I had to reach over the register to grab my bag of food.
I was there for over 20 mins, being the only customer, so I was really disappointed.
The burrito was good, and my kid only ate the quesadilla because he was hungry. Within an hour, though, I felt sick, so overall, I will never return to...
Read moreEdit: As you can see, the owner responded to this review and I'd like to make it clear, they did not address the issue adequately at all. I reached out to corporate as well and they send one cookie cutter response and then never corresponded again. Do not think because they responded to the review that the situation was dealt with, they only wanted to save face publicly.
Original review: I have generally been very happy with Hot Head Burritos, when I lived in the Cincinnati area it was one of my favorites. This Hot Head is not good though, they skimp on portions and have hidden upcharges that you won't know about until you get your receipt and wonder why your food cost several dollars more than you expected.
I would recommend heading to Hot Head Burritos when you are in the Northern KY/Cincinnati area, but not this one. Unless the whole company is headed down the drain like this, then just avoid it...
