Sunrise Cafe — Restaurant in Lexington

Zero stars if i could. This place didnt smell of cigarettes before they took over. Someones cooking food while smoking. Food looks like the person plating has to stand 6 feet away and is playing cornhole with ingredients. Your side is a 1/2 order of a side. They even ripped off the name of another buisness in the next town, that other buisness is a good place. I wouldnt bother much going here. The rats who sunk other ships in the town have fled to this ship to sink it.

Its simple math. The town is desperate for places to go to, but not that desperate to throw money at sub-par elementry school lunches. If i could deal with smoke, i'd just go to the tavern for 10x better food. Your running your buisness into the ground off the bat. I want you guys to be a good place, but most of the people in town who's buisness have and are failing cant hold to basic standards.

Newest update, March 2023, the owner responded, hit block on me and flagged my review. i cannot reply directly to them. I came in and walked right back out after 10 minutes of just sitting there. Zero change....

Came here a few days before Christmas and had breakfast with a friend. They ordered a breakfast sandwich and I ordered the special, which was biscuits and gravy with eggs and hashbrowns. The food was.. not good. The gravy was sweet.. and tasted like a scented candle, which was super weird, the sausage was overcooked, the hashbrowns tasted like freezer burn or.. dishwater?? .. it was all very weird and very noticeably not good quality. The server was friendly, but halfway through our meal her bf or husband came in with her child and the environment became much more chaotic given the fact that she was working and also taking care of a young child while trying to wait tables. We ended up leaving pretty quickly and did not complain, still left great tip, because it was clear the server had her hands full and it wasn’t her fault that the quality of food coming out was so off. This place could be great and Lexington could really benefit from having a solid breakfast place.. but it was overall just...

I really try to leave good reviews but this time I could find no redeeming qualities. From the time we arrived, there were zero greetings or acknowledgement for 15 minutes after we walked in and sat down. Once we did receive service, it was very poor. Taking into consideration she was young and perhaps very inexperienced, we were still looking for some form of courtesy. When our food was served it was placed in the center of the table (😳). The check was delivered without any sort of thank you or have a nice day. All of this being said, I understand being short staffed and it gets hectic but I'm also speaking as an experienced server myself. A dining experience is 80% the way you are interacted with and 20% food. I hope that I am alone in this experience because I want to see all local small...
