We came here on a Sunday afternoon and waited 10 mins to spoken to/seated. Needless to say it very awkward. The front room was full of customers but the larger back room had one table with customers. It was very uncomfortable just standing there with everyone looking at us. The space is tiny between the front door and the tables and there were 5 of us. The sign right in front of us said "please wait to be seated". A lady walked past us 4 times getting dirty dishes but never spoke a word. She acted like no one was there and just ignored us. She ended up being our waitress. You'd think she would have the decency to say something like "hello, be with yall in a few" or anything similar but not a word. Once we were seated we placed our order. "Chicken fried chicken" was on their menu for $14.95 which came with 2 sides. I didn't expect a huge order of chicken with 2 sides for this price, but I did expect one piece of fried chicken at least. When the order of chicken made it to our table it was a fried CHICKEN FILET. A FILET. Needless to say, it was not eaten. For one, my child didn't want a chicken filet. He wanted a piece of fried chicken which is what they advertised on their menu. If the menu said "fried chicken filet" it wouldn't have been ordered. The filet was very small and rock hard. I wish I had taken a picture. The size of that filet was like the size of a toddlers hand. The pulled pork was no better. It was dry as a bone. My husband is usually a garbage disposal and will eat mostly anything. He didn't eat this after 2 bites. The ham portion of the club sandwich was good but the turkey was slimy. The french fries were disgusting. Very much deep fried and that's all you tasted. Our waitress stopped at our table once and and said she'd bring more sweet teas but she never did. The bathroom door was sticky and the table she sat us at wasn't cleaned properly as my husband got something all over his arm that was also sticky. The only 2 positive things I can say about this place is 1. the sweet tea is delicious and 2. my husband told the waitress he wasn't paying for the chicken or the pulled pork so those two items were taken off our bill. we paid for just the sides for those meals. Honestly, I'm just glad we didn't get sick from eating here. Beware of this place seriously.
*We were traveling and didn't know anything about this place. Lesson learned. I will always read Google reviews before eating anywhere...
Read moreBeware - do NOT recommend We went to this cute diner in June 2024 with some out of state family. The service was great. The food was good and reasonably price. The overall experience was great. Fast forward to early November 2024 and we went back, just me and my wife this time. The place was chaos. There were many empty tables in various stages of being cleaned/bussed. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were there. While waiting we heard multiple customers stating their order was slow or if delivered, it was incorrect.
After being seated we went with the "safe" option of fried eggs and bacon. We did both order coffee and received it after 10 minutes or so. After another 30 minutes of waiting we did not even have a coffee refill let alone our food. We engaged in conversation with many diners who had been seated stating that their orders were either delayed or incorrect. The wait staff (seemingly all teenagers) were very polite and seemed to be hustling, when we saw them.
I noticed a couple that came in after we did were just being seated (now 40+ minutes into their own experience). I had enough, tracked down our waitress and asked how much for the coffee. She was obviously embarrassed, again, it did not appear a wait-staff issue. She comped the coffees and we left. There was another party standing in line and I warned them if they had been paying any attention they should leave or end up with the same experience. On our way out there was a young couple coming in and another older couple leaving. I explained what they were in for. The other couple agreed that they should find somewhere else to go. The younger couple thankfully left.
The sign outside states Under New Ownership, very proudly. Good luck to them because if they keep this up no one will be bothering with this place any more. It is too bad "management" did not appear to be anywhere around. Again, the young folks working there that we saw were doing their best, I'm not slamming them. Having one or two people experienced in running the kitchen may be a good idea if they...
Read moreCalled in an order of a regular hamburger with xtra patty. Lettuce tomato and mayo. Plus a regular order of fries. I was told 20 to 25 minutes. Ok... reasonable on a Saturday around 130 pm. Got there 20 minutes after I called. Went to wash hands in restroom. Not the cleanest place. Stood in line at cashier to pay was sent to ice cream line cashier. Waited for the girl to serve shake to another customer. When I finally got to pay for the order I was charged 23.46. I kid you not. I was charged for the Elvis burger. NOT what I ordered. Food wasn't ready yet either. 10 minutes I wait. No order. I ask girl behind the counter to check on it. She doesn't come back. I asked another person and still no burger. 50 minutes since I placed order. I finally tell them just refund my money. Cashier called assistant manager who wants to know what is wrong. I tell her I've been waiting nearly an hour and want refund that I can't wait anymore. She asked if I already eaten it? EATEN IT? LADY I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE DAMN THING! She couldn't figure out how to make refund. 16 year old cashier had to tell her how. I was called disrespectful and given the "we're shorthanded and the owner is cooking and I'm having to wait tables" excuse. I'm patient but patience wears thin after a while. This used to be a wonderful place to go but now its just a mismanaged over priced nasty tourist trap. Doesn't even deserve one star. After reading other people's comments I'm wondering who all these "local guides " are who give the place excellent reviews. Are they being paid for theirs? Also much of the waitstaff seems to be rather young. The cashier told me she had been working there 2 years and I was told by assistant manager that the girl was only 16. The one I saw making up silverware packets didn't look more than 11. Place could have such potential but clearly not being...
