Spent three night's at KOA's Campgrounds and had a blast.

Location is perfect next to the highway for quick access to Lexington area as well as Rockbridge Parks but yet is far enough out that you're secluded from it all the same.

Easy check in, and check out, with a very helpful staff.

Our Cabin was great, with an incredibly comfortable bed, nice shower that had plenty of hot water, microwave, table, television, and an upstairs loft to provide additional sleeping areas. Outside we had our own patio, table with four seats, and grill. Made for an awesome time sitting outside in the sun, grilling burgers and hot dogs, and socializing with family and neighbors.

Cabin was clean on arrival, bed was comfortable, as well as the upstairs loft's extra mats and blankets for what they were.

My only con about the campgrounds is sights are incredibly close. I was happy with mine as I was lucky enough to have Cabin #24 which had no one close on either side, though directly in front was campers, and right behind was a playground with many RV's parked and it could get quite loud in the day. This wasn't a huge deal, as I enjoy the crowds, and night time quiet time was honored and never loud. However, for some I could see this being an issue in terms of privacy or just wanting to truly 'camp' and seclude yourself. The grounds are quite hilly, which may provide trouble for some campers (as I seen across the way.)

All in all my particular stay however was great and I'd highly recommend the cabin I was in for your next stay at...

Positives: location, price, amenities, easy access, power at our site was good, water pressure was good, cable was good, patio was clean, and the grill was very clean and ready to go. Negatives: it is a DUST BOWL, site not level with some wash out, leaves not blown, weeds not trimmed, old retaining wall boards laying on site, bathrooms not cleaned regularly, no air in the additional bathhouse or either laundry room, not pleasant to sit outside due to the dust. I did send an email requesting the escort golf carts to slow down, but I never got a response. If you camp here, there is no need to wash your camper or truck before you go. You will have white walls if you Armourall your tires. Bring plenty of leveling blocks, as you will need them. I agree with other reviews that I think they are more interested in expanding than upkeep of their original sites.

The bathrooms are posted as being cleaned one time a day, starting at 11am. The young male was more interested in getting leaves out of the pool at 830am. than the floaters in the bathroom, which I have pictures of from two of the four stalls. It's the first KOA I have stayed at that didn't have a person assigned with an equipped cart to maintain the bathrooms all day. There were plenty of carts and staff to complete that task.

Looking ahead to where they are going with the campground looks great, losing repeat customers in the meantime...

Disappointed with this KOA. We camp a lot so I have many campgrounds to compare to. Our site was tight not necessarily because of the square footage of the site but because of where the hookups were in relation to the concrete pad and trees/rocks on the site; it made pulling into it a tight squeeze. Also, if the site behind us wasn’t vacant, I don’t know how we would’ve pulled in. It was a nearly 90 degree turn from the pull in road around a tree with probably less than a foot of clearance. The roads around the campground are also narrow even with just the truck. It’s a comparatively small campground on top of it so not a lot to walk/bike around and see. The “amenities” were the worst part. “Wifi” was non existent which would’ve been fine if WiFi wasn’t explicitly advertised on their site and flyers. Fine print states they have “basic WiFi” that isn’t for “streaming” and isn’t guaranteed at all site. Never knew they made that kind of WiFi or what it can be used for since we couldn’t even pull up google, GPS or basic sites on our phones. The game room was filthy. The couches in there are visibly stained with who knows what. And to charge for some of those games in there, like having to buy a ping pong ball to play ping pong, is just sad. Cable worked well, on a positive note. All in all,...
