Vaqueros — Restaurant in Leyden Township

We went for Father's Day,my father likes this place,he has been there before. It was a table of 12, our first time. They put together a couple of tables and sat us down. It's a small place, looks outdated and could use some updating. The tables were sticky and the place was hot inside. Our waitress sat us down and took our drink order, came back and ordered our food. Some of us ordered tacos which were good, I ordered the camarones sarandiados , which were alright,I only got like 8 shrimp in a spicy sauce which wasn't that spicy like the menu said. My other family got fried fish in garlic sauce and a plate of Chiles rellenos, which were good but not great, only three tortillas per plate, we had to order more. The waitress an older lady had an attitude when asked questions about the food or the bill, I don't know if that's the way she is or she was frustrated from having to take care of all the other tables. Reading the other reviews I believe she just has an attitude all the time. I have never been to a restaurant and have the waiters be with an attitude, we spent close to 300.00 dollars ,she should have been happy that new customers were going to the restaurant. As far as my family and I , we won't be going back, if my parents want to they can go without us next time. The food is ok nothing great, the service can be a lot better, if she was happier it would have made our visit much better. Terrible experience ! If you want to be disrespected this is the place to go ! Horrible service ! I walk in an there was nobody to welcome you or sit you down so I decided to sit at a table and wait for waitress. This old lady comes and tells me and my family to move to a different table (keep in mind that the restaurant was empty) so we all move and once we sat down she moves us again and tell us to sit at some other table.

Finally we get the menu and we order she then collects the menus and I was still looking at mine when she extends her hand to get my menu I told her I was still looking at it then she rolled her eyes at me so I just gave her the menu instead of ordering appetizers. Im a very understanding person so I just thought the poor lady was having a hard day since she had 3 children under her care while working,but the lady continue to be rude when we received our order we notice that she messed our order up so I brought it up to her attention she stood there and argue that she gave us wat we order. She messed everyone's sides up it was something that could of easily been fix. She didn't apologize she just walk away. I went with family. Was extremely disappointed. My sister in law spotted a dead roach on the floor when she was seated to which the waitress stated they had fumigated the day prior. The staff was friendly and treated us kindly. Ordered the parilla de mariscos. Did not appear to be very fresh in appearance nor in taste. The seafood looked sort of grey and I supposed it was the seasoning but the oysters tasted very fishy even with lime juice on them. I believe they were old because I developed a mild stomach ache later on in the evening which led me to write this review. I am not picky and I pretty much will try any food, no sensitivities to seafood either but this was not fresh. My brother had a fish plate and stated the same disapointment. His wife barely ate. I gave the place 2 stars because my son ordered quesadillas with meat and finished his food, said it was ok. Maybe we should have tried the meat options instead. Do not get seafood here. The drink I ordered which was an agua mineral preparada was prepared well. The chips and especially the salsa was really good. We had guac as an appetizer.
