Good Thangz Cookin — Restaurant in Lincoln Heights

I like that it's an open kitchen and you can see your food being made. They offer you samples of their sides too. The staff I met were very friendly and it felt like I was at a backyard bbq, music playing, friendly atmosphere, welcoming to this newbie to their food. The food amazing 🤩🤩, I ordered the half rack rib dinner w/Mac, greens, a side of yams, 2pc cornbread, apple cobbler and you have to get the kool-aide ( if you want to go back to your childhood, their kool-aide does it). Everything was well seasoned, the greens broth you will just want to drink it 🔥, the yams were perfectly caramelized with the brown sugar, and the Mac was very cheesy and rich (One thing I would change is a little less cook on the pasta, Slightly overcooked) but the flavor takes the win!! From one Chef to Another. Great Job!! Thanks for feeding me when I don't want to cook 😂. I will be back ❤️

Oh.. Side note. They are not overpriced. I only paid 30 dollars for all...

Whoever named this place GOOD THANGZ COOKIN new exactly what they were talking about , I’ve seen this place in multiple order apps , doordash , ubereats and decided to give it a try and OMG I am so happy that I did Fam bam got the chicken Philly which was amazing , I asked for no mayo and it came with it but honestly it was so good it didn’t bother me at all , I will definitely be ordering it again and fix it more to my liking , it comes with fries which are perfect We got the cheese fries which were amazing The potato skins as well Macaroni and cheese was good most places in the area I take one bite and end up spitting it out but good thangz cookin Mac is pretty decent ! Their mashed potatoes too , loved their potato salad, I’ve eaten a lot of soul food restaurants in the area and they all do it wrong where good thangz is definitely doin it right ! Will definitely be trying more on the menu and continue...

GOOD LORD, THIS IS SO DELICIOUS! Seriously, just so good. I ordered the rib sandwich, mac and cheese, and collard greens. I'm not one to shovel food, but my decently sized plate was gone in maybe five minutes. The mac and cheese was perfect. The greens had the perfect flavor. The ribs? I offered my friend a taste and she grabbed her husband and said, "You know ribs aren't my thing, but I could eat the h* out of these ribs! The flavors, the textures, just everything about the food was perfect. The restaurant shares a building with Yarrow Express right there off I75, I've driven by it hundreds of times without realizing it's there. The decor inside is lacking, which is fine. Clearly the focus is on the food, and he is NAILING it. The menu looks amazing and next time I'm in I already know what I'll be ordering.
